Political Discussion

If Trump wins we get a whole much more Trump nominated federal judges.
No. You get Putin defacto in control of an American government, which will pass laws increasingly enabling powers that will result in a democracy in name only, of which the Supreme Court will evolve to be a rubber stamp, the press is state sanctioned, the military is ever more a weapon of the dictator - Putin, in effect.

Upside. American influence in the world has been on a slide for well over a decade. It started with W, Barack was internationally popular but not overly influential, tanked with Trump and had a small but significant temporary resurgence under Biden.

There were already shifting alignments and a move to lessen American foreign influence internationally. The EU will become the beacon of democracy and the counter-Russia strength. Israel will become more isolated and more of an isolated, radical regime as the Middle East evolves ahead of it. The WWII Israel taboo has been broken.

A majority of Americans have never left the country, a majority of those not even their own state. The fact that essentially half the country can vote for a Russian asset, fraudster, rapist, racist and self-proclaimed totalitarian who is 'married' to a high end East Euro hooker who comes from a Communist country and whose parents were known KGB assets shows just how inward gazing and intellectually absent far too many Americans are, and it won't be fixed in a generation.

I think I saw Harris as a new thing but this election is feeling like the country viewed it more of a continuation of Biden. Incumbent’s second terms are almost always tougher than their first.
A lot of Americans equate the economy as being bad when they can’t go out and buy everything their heart desires right at that exact moment, I sure as hell didn’t grow up that way but I feel like a good number of Americans think this way these days.

Per Steve Kornakie on MSNBC, Harris is underperforming in WI compared to 2020 and they are running out of votes. I am thinking that Trump will end up with over 300 EC votes and probably win the popular vote.

$7 eggs and $4 gas is more offensive to your average American than upending democracy or women’s health.

People are gonna say she under performed with minorities and try to blame blacks and Latinos for this loss but the problem as always will be white men and white women.

Very true. The Trump economy was terrible. The Biden stock market is fabulous - but only 10% of Americans own stock, and 91% of the listed stocks in America are owned by 3% of the population.

For all those Americans with a grade 3 education working for minimum wage, the economy sucks. That's because they, themselves, are not getting ahead. For them, 50 cents more for a box of corn flakes is a lot. Problem is - they won't get ahead. They have grade 3 educations and are stupid.

Yet, they think that they should have a glittering hollywood rags to riches story and think that Trump will give it to them. In fact, they don't care that he is a fascist. Just get me another $50 a month and let me keep my tips.
