Ditto. Trump can now justify his cronies breaking every law and just pardon them with impunity. These few individuals were not worth the cost of what he just did. It would be an injustice if they were prosecuted by Trump, but the window to an even greater injustice is now open.

I don't like it for the precedent it sets but I also do not like the reason it needed to be done to combat a probable vindictive executive branch.

Yeah, this basically signals to the US and the world that even the sitting US President has completely lost faith in our democratic system of checks and balances.

Also, any rich asshole will likely be able to buy one of these preemptive pardons moving forward giving them carte blanche to do what the fuck ever they want.

Still, I don’t blame him at all. At a certain point you gotta take care of you and yours.
