Political Discussion

See this is what I'm referring to about he'll take credit for shit or say shit and the media won't push back hard enough. Trump claimed his EO "turned the water back on" and that he sent the military into California to do it. He didn't but he just gets to say it and there's very little pushback.

The media have gone from toothless in term 1, to completely neutered this term. They're all fearful of when the media crackdowns are going to start.

Furthermore, the media actively helped get us here; they stoked the flames of controversy and refused to call out his rhetoric as hateful and founded on inaccuracies. He craves the attention, and they thrive on the traffic his bs brings to their websites. They never had spines.

I deeply feel the die was cast when the 24-hour news cycle shifted journalism fully into the realm of entertainment and commodification.

This is right out of the Stephen Miller strategy playbook. Do something outrageous like try to repeal by executive order a constitutional amendment, wait for a Federal judge to halt the order, kick the case around until you get a Trump favorable judge or ultimately get it before the Supreme Court and roll the dice on the ruling of your unconstitutional power grab.

The government only has money through March due to the continuing resolution. So unless you're getting a lump sum up front, there's no reason to take this buyout. If it's paid to you through September then you're going to get screwed. Of course, that's part of the chaos he's trying to create. I say he but it's more the evil minions who put things in front of him or tell him what he should do next.

This is the Democratic response but mostly just on social media.
