Political Discussion

I keep thinking about Elijah Cummings and John Lewis and how they might have felt had they lived to see such a close outcome. But for leaders like them, and Stacey Abrams, and others, this could have been lost. Mixed feelings of gratitude for their service to a country that hates them, and shame that it does.
Let's all keep in mind that it's only close among white voters.

Also, seems a bit premature to change the thread title, Trump's got 2.5 months to further fuck shit up.

I'm sure they'll help come the run offs in January....need a big turnout for those, too.

I think not having Trump on the ballot may help get control of the Senate.

Looking at the latest numbers, It looks like republicans will likely take the five remaining senate seats.

When all is said and done it looks like they will have 53 seats an we will still have McConnell.

I don't know. Seems like there were quite a few split tickets in terms of voting for Biden and voting R for congress. I really hope they can pull it off though.

I always found it exasperating when the media blamed a minority group for “not turning out” during the 2016 election (I have heard the same thing unfortunately about 2020) when if White Men didn’t overwhelmingly support Trump none of the past 4 years should have happened. Always scapegoating.
