I don’t know how much you’ll wanna use Trump as a model, especially if you’re attempting to reestablish norms. It ultimately depends on how much a GOP lead Senate is willing to obstruct. Trump was so fucked that even though his party controlled the Senate he wasn’t willing to put his stooges up for approval. If I recall correctly the Interior and DHS Secretary were recently determined by the courts to be invalid and both just went on and ignored the courts ruling. I think the GOP will be happy to be brought back into the fold to use their “advise & consent” role I am sure they will big dick Biden a bit just to show that they can but my hope is overall it will all be much more above board. If Biden has to go the Trump route the Senate will have given him no other choice and they will have lost the power to advise and consent the cabinet moving forward.Cabinet positions can just be replaced with "acting" people. I don't know if this is sound legal strategy, but why not try that out, get Republicans pissed off enough to get the SC to rule that yeah, that loophole isn't kosher, then use that ruling to argue that anything you didn't like in the Trump administration that was carried out by an "acting" Cabinet member is nullified?
Edit: I mean, I *know* why not, it's too cutesy and risky to be a serious strategy, but DAMN, playing by the rules sucks sometimes.
