I don't think so either, but I am 100% certain his strategy in appealing directly to Kentuckians would have been much more effective in the long term. He was doing face-to-face talks in places like Hazard and listening to people. Things like this won't change overnight, but strategies like that-LISTENING to people and hearing them and getting them excited-are going to be the key. Coming in front out state and gleefully announcing "I am also right wing, but better!" isn't going to win over anyone.
