Oh he’s leaving, one way or the other.Assuming he leaves office we’ll see a ton of this for the foreseeable future.
.....I'm still hoping for military force kicking and screamingOh he’s leaving, one way or the other.
I agree about the horrible human being part but If he can somehow get his callow feckless party to go for more stimulus I would be all for it. I am not holding my breath but $2,000 would be better than $600.He’s a horrible human being. It has a veto proof majority but he’s just an asshole.
Trump calls Covid relief bill unsuitable and demands Congress add bigger stimulus payments
President Trump, in a stunning tweet, called the $900 billion Covid relief bill passed by Congress an unsuitable "disgrace."www.google.com
I don’t know a person on the planet who wouldn’t want $2000 but it has no chance of going anywhere in either chamber. Trump is just wasting people’s times. Maybe if we all put an LLC beside our name we could get that $2000.I agree about the horrible human being part but If he can somehow get his callow feckless party to go for more stimulus I would be all for it. Well, I don’t know about the Senate, but Pelosi has already said the The Lower chamber would take up the $2k...I don’t know a person on the planet who wouldn’t want $2000 but it has no chance of going anywhere in either chamber. ...which is a great move as it puts pressure on Mitch and the GA Senators to either support the additional stimulus or be the reason that every American (and Georgian) is out an additional $1,400.
Keep going though. Not ironically, Should be at least $2k a month
yep. love that they had to debate helping their constituents for 6 months before finally setting on a holiday pittance attached to all their other bullshit.I mean it was attached to the omnibus spending bill so pretty normal for all of those terms to appear. The military industrial complex is always going to get theirs.
Also, in cold macro economic terms it is less expensive overall to have a (relatively) stable world than an unstable one. The economy is global. The amount the US spends on Pork and Foreign Aid is a pittance compared on what is spent on the Military. After a person I argue with in the internet expressed some outrage over all the seeming no related stuff in this stimulus bill I came to a realization. All these various large pieces of aide are just ways to distribute capital that in turn support various structures and institutions, private companies, public services, markets, and families. All of these things need to be stabilized through this time. We all depend on these things and need them to be back to normal as soon as possible.
His outrage was why isn’t all this foreign aide going to the American people. I pointed out that there were a lot of Asian countries in it. Do we want China to provide the stabilization in that area? Egypt and Sudan? Stable gas prices. The Kennedy Center and research on fallen trees. That money goes to people’s salaries, educational programs, and protecting assets from natural disaster. My whole argument was that we actually see benefits from these programs and maybe his outrage about it shouldn’t be so extreme.
I will say a couple of things though. There are a lot of holes in my knowledge about these things. Yes there probably is a lot of pork and waste in those aide packages. Yes $600 is not the solution to the problem for families.
