Political Discussion

Dude said he’d put Trump back on the platform; didn’t realize he would just be Trump on the platform. It’s so horrifying that “activists” has become a slur over the last few years; does not bode well for democracy.

My morals and hope for sanity tell me to delete this dumb app. The monkey in me wants to keep watching the trainwreck while onboard.

How many time must we say it’s not free speech?

It doesn’t matter; they know it isn’t. They just hate when the shoe is on the other foot and consider one foot’s freedom hacking the other foot off.

It’s the playbook: they accuse the dems of stealing the last election so the republicans can deny the results of this next one, they call activists violent so their domestic terrorism appears mellow and justified, and they say political correctness is limiting speech while banning history books.

The irony here is that they will say that these companies are so big that they control how we interact with each other. They need government regulations. Then I ask them what are your views on corporations or banks 😒

So the same people that argue is a business decision to discriminate against LGBTQ or other minorities minorities want to punish companies for deciding where to put their advertising money

But only it's companies who put their money in places that align with the left. Don't forget that.

Thin-skinned baby man is not having fun with his new toy 😂

honestly expected this to start falling apart in a few months, but looks like we’re getting the accelerated experience. Wonder how much longer before this reall starts to impact Tesla and the board seeks to remove him.

This is a good read on the upcoming midterm election. What is actually motivating voters was a miss to the democrats. And their lack of action do do any gerrymandering of their own in states they control have left them at a disadvantage where they may lose house seats in blue states.

In blue states, right to abortion are protected. So to many in in blue states, abortion rights isn’t the ammunition the democrats thought it was to hater momentum. Rather the economy and crime is what voters are being motivated to the polls over. And the democrats have been very weak compared to the Republicans on the campaign trail.

New Yorkers have this opportunity to spy on potential wages because the city’s Salary Transparency Law went into effect on 1 November. But anyone looking to compare their paycheck to a future colleague’s may be disappointed by comically large ranges. On the hunt for a gig at Citigroup? Expect to make between $0 and $2m.

In other words, there still is no transparency. Companies don't want to give their employees knowledge of what others are making so that employees don't hold the power to bargain.

I mean the answer to gerrymandering is just to abolish it

It is. But sadly, it's locked in place for at least another generation. And the Republicans are likely to gain an even larger advantage through increased gerrymandering over the next 20 years.

The Republicans have made their moves, and ensured their advantage for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, as much as I'm not a fan of "playing the game" it's either that or straight up forcibly dismantling the current system... So since that's an unlikely scenario, either other politicians besides Conservatives start taking advantage of the system, or we continue to be controlled and managed by those in power who already have/are.
