The whole way they got emancipation in britain was by compensating the slave owning planters. If you put a list of compensated planters next to a list of the leading industrialists in the first boom of the Industrial Revolution the correlation is astounding. The current position of Britain, and by extension you in the US, with the gains from the slave trade and empire is so intertwined and complex.
 
Meanwhile the House GOP continues to intervene with the Manhattan DAs office over this indictment and subpoenaed the DA for further investigate. They are trying to vilify him and denigrate the integrity of elected state procesecurters and trial judges.

Basically their stance is leave the rich white dude the fuck alone. Any investigation / charges for Trump are politically motivated and political warfare. And the DA is not doing his job by going after Trump, and instead should be going after the violent criminals on NY's streets today.
