Political Discussion

So, remember how Biden was confident he would win the student loan case because no one could prove they have incurred any damages and the SCOTUS tossed that presdence aside and is expected to rule against student loan forgiveness as being an overreach of power?

There is a new case the SCOTUS just agreed to take on where their decision will entirely be based on if someone incurred any damages and has legal standing. The Supreme Court of the United States has agreed to take on a case related to ADA (The Americans with Disabilities Act).

A hotel management company from Coastal Maine is bring the case to the SCOTUS. And the case is about whether not people or organizations have the right to sue them for ADA violations if they incurred no damaged / harm.

Basically, this case is about preventing non profits and self appointed ADA Testers / advocates from being able to sue for ADA violations because no harm was done to them.

The hotel chain's website is not accessible in any shape or form, no does is disclose if properties are accessible. The person who is suing them is a self appointed tester / advocate of people with disabilities.

I am sorry @nolalady. Just disgusting. I hate guns and to me America will be always a gun sick nation and I am just sick of it. 3 children confirmed dead just now.

Two adults dead as well. If you think it can't happen in your neighborhood, think again. I mean this happened in an unbelievably wealthy part of town. I venture to say one of the wealthiest places in the US to be honest.

I'm seeing on the news that the shooter was a teen woman, which is pretty much unheard of.

Ah, the article I read didn't say the age, just said teen. Either way it's very unusual for a woman mass shooter.
Just saw the stat: of the 61 active shooter situations so far (86th day of the year), this is the only female shooter.

ETA: 86 days in to the year, there have been over 100 mass shootings.

I fully support Second Amendment rights: if a citizen wants to own a musket, I say they should be entitled to.

And they can. Or any gun made before the last 1800's. I forget what the exact year is, but any firearm manufactured before said date is completely unregulated and requires no licenses or background checks to to obtain / use.

Was watching one of the local news stations here in Nashville and one of the field reporters for WSMV was struggling to report on it because you guessed she has survived a school shooting herself.
