Yeah the polls and murmors this week were that they couldn’t get a majority. The size of their vote and a weird alliance of the absurd ego and a party that is pretty far left is going to be fragile as hell. France is in a very worrying place.

It’s different. It’s very hard to compare the two. I think politically le Pen is maybe not quite as problematic a person as Trump but her politics are way way to the right. She is not less extreme than her dad was, she’s more polished.

What makes America going extreme problematic is its economic power and resultant influence on global politics.

I say not this to be mean but if we think Biden has no shot, if they somehow replace him with Kamala she will lose in a landslide. Lots of Americans are racist, but I think they may be even more sexist.

Maybe but at this point you're losing either way. I don't think she'll lose in a landslide. If people claim they want a younger candidate and you offer one, I doubt they go from I was going to vote for Biden but he's too old to now I will vote for Trump because his black VP is now the candidate. Maybe they just don't vote but you shore up more women and African Americans to vote because Kamala can express a lot better than Joe Biden what's at stake if Trump gets elected for those two groups.

And Biden has no shot because the fears about him being too old are now completely founded in the proof he gave to the nation with the debate. If Kamala is the nominee, Trump has to debate her or he's a coward.

Of course he’s a coward and he’ll claim she didn’t win in a primary so she isn’t legitimate and how it’s all being rigged again.
 
Everything I've read that's come from Biden's arrogant asshole of a mouth today has him nearly topping Trump on my list of old guys who need to hurry up and die.
 
Yeah at this point for me it's all about getting as many Democrats in Congress as possible to be roadblocks for the next 4 years. The people who want to burn it all down and start over may just get their wish.

No real surprise there. He pretty much threw down and threatened to destroy the party if he didn't get his way. He's holding them all hostage. The only thing I'm really pissed off about is how he's framing it as if it's only some Dem elites out to get him and voters are all on his side. As if we didn't watch his trainwreck. And the line that we had our chance and voted for him is bull shit. There wasn't anyone else to vote for because he controlled the party and made certain there wouldn't be a primary. That one loser from wherever doesn't count, even if he was generally right about Biden. I've thought Biden was an asshole for the 30 years I've paid attention to politics, and nothing he's done has surprised me. He's still the arrogant SOB he always was and Obama forced this on us by pulling the strings in the last primary to tank any opposition. Fuck them all. Vote for him to beat the fascist and then fight like hell to get him the hell out.
