Political Discussion

I feel it all comes down to keeping Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. If Biden loses any of those, it's over. He'll still get more of the popular vote than Trump. I don't see Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia staying blue. I hope I'm wrong on those 3. 270 to 268.

Pa got one more Blue vote from me this year compared to 2020! Hope that helps lol

Hillary never had a chance.
Very true. She was considered representative of the elite old guard as well as corrupt.

But JD Vance just shows that Trump knows who his base is. By picking a white male he has solidified his base of racists, white supremacists and mysogynysts. And further, he has extended his appeal to the stupid people, the losers who attend his rallies. Vance has no record and scant experience, so nothing to delve into. Stupid people love that.

The electoral college should be revamped so it isn't winner take all. Otherwise what's the point of a Republican in California voting, or a Democrat in Wyoming? Hell, by the time the votes are counted in Alaska, the race has already been called.

It's annoying that these elections are decided only by a handful of states every year, and the power per vote is higher in rural states than populated ones.

Haven't personally verified the info, but my wife sent me this a few minutes ago...

Interesting... from a NY Times article:
The daughter of Indian immigrants, Usha Chilukuri grew up in a San Diego suburb. Friends from her childhood and adolescence described her as a “leader” and a “bookworm.” Brainy, ambitious and pragmatic, she moved from an extracurricular-studded four years at Yale to a Gates Fellowship at Cambridge, where she moved in mostly liberal and left-wing circles. As of 2014, she was a registered Democrat.

Given the current political landscape, I take solace in knowing that one day the sun will eventually burn out and all this will be for nothing.
I think prior to that the sun burning out it will first become a Red Giant and the Earth resides in close enough orbit that it would likely envelop the planet first. That won’t happen for another 5 billion years though. We will likely have destroyed the planet/ourselves long before we get to that point.

Welcome to page 1,000 of this thread everyone!

For some reason it took StickerMule for me to really see how odious the rhetoric in the wake of the Van Gogh moment is, and it ties into something I was remarking on last week: the way the party divide is framed as equally and mutually acrimonious. From where I'm sitting, the right is constantly and gleefully espousing political violence, vocally wishes ill on their opponents. Now they have one moment of violence aimed at them, and now it's time for us all to pump the brakes and start behaving with civility. It's an opportunity to characterize any opposition to Trump as an overreaction.

I had trouble seeing how this would result in stronger support for Trump, and maybe it won't, but last week this company wouldn't dream of expressing support for him.

Where the fuck were the kind and awesome people supporting Trump when J6 happened? When he called their fellow citizens vermin? When he called immigrants rapists and killers? During Charlottesville? When he spurred armed supporters of his on during BLM protests?

I don’t know Sticker Mule, but fuck them.

I'm seeing more disgusted replies than supportive on this post. I can't see how this could possibly help business, it seems it was a huge mistake.

I've seen many ads for the company, usually on twitter. I'm not really in the market for stickers, but would never consider this company if I were.

On-demand sticker printing is popular for artists and creatives seeking a cheap promo tool. As you see, artists and creatives aren't exactly jibing with this post.
