So far only 1 congress person, Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Tex.) has called for an open primary.

I think she’ll have this all but wrapped up within the week.
She also has all of Biden’s campaign money. A 97 million dollar head start on any opponents is always good.
 
My fear is that Kamala will prove to be an anti-Dem turnout engine for those that lean Republican; more so than Biden. Additionally, I’m unclear if she is as much as a turnout engine for the anti-GOP vote.
Kamala might do less to draw moderate republicans but she might do better amongst apathetic POC or young people. Two portions of the Democratic coalition the matter in swing states as well.
