Pre-Order Thread

Omg Russ five5eeds looks amazing too! Totally a place I'd go to for brunch! I would definitely take you out to five5eeds or Fat's Chicken & Waffles if you were in the area because those recommendations are #1! 🏆🥇

Ok time to talk about Pre-Orders! What pre-orders are people mostly looking forward to that are not Urban Outfitters, VMP, Newbury Comics, Barnes & Nobles, HHV, Walmart, Cracker & Barrel, Target exclusives? 🤔

I'm very excited to receive PJ Harvey's Rid Of Me, 4-Track Demos, To Bring You My Love and To Bring You My Love demos!

I'm also very excited for the Acoustic Sounds reissues of John Coltrane's Ballads and A Love Supreme! The Nina Simone ones will be great as well but I'm mostly excited for the Coltrane ones!

I'm also really excited to receive my Sam Cooke Ain't That Good News! The reissue that's coming out was pressed at Quality Records Pressing (QRP), so it should be a great sounding reissue!

Also, I cannot wait to receive the Amy Winehouse 'Frank' Half-Speed Abbey Road reissue! I love Amy Winehouse and I cannot wait to hear this quality reissue, as I'm sure it will be the definitive pressing! I was just spinning my INXS 'Kick' 45RPM Abbey Road Half-Speed pressing the other day and it sounded so good!

Lastly, I can't wait to get my Run The Jewels'' RTJ4 and Disclosure ENERGY records! The colour variant mock-ups look great for them and singles from ENERGY so far have been superb!

OMG, and where are all my Mary J. Blige 'My Life' fans at! @Mr Moore - I see you baby! I remember you said that Mrs. Moore loves that album. Did you know what its getting released soon on vinyl! I pre-ordered the album on Sound Of Vinyl (UK Store)! I can't wait to spin that one! That is one pre-order I highly recommend as Mary J. Biige's My Life is a masterpiece!!! 💎

I might be wrong but IIRC we are supposed to have a Sam Record reissue as WBC AotM for December.

Yeah, that’s what Edd said, and it’s a brand new Sam Records pressing/reissue too! Edd said it hasn’t been finalised yet in terms of a date, but I think it should still be good for this December as the ROTM! 🤗

I’m so excited for it! 😁

Did we already move on from Waffle House? Shit...

Did you know they have their own music label, and release 45's?

OMG, THAT'S MAPLE SYRUP?!?!?!? They give you a whole glass of syrup! Oh my goodness! Omg, that must be sweet but I can imagine it being pretty great quality syrup and would be a nice counterbalance to the savoury chicken! Far out though, do people consume all of that syrup though?!? That + the chicken + butter + waffles + macaroni and a soft drink/milkshake would be such a fattening meal! 👀🐡
Waffle House isn't great. Its cheap and convenient. But people don't go there cause the food is particularly good. All the other places people mentined are probably better.
To be fair, I also call myself "Lord Diaper Baby" so just 'cause I say it's shit food shouldn't turn you away. I also use that term lovingly. Like, I know what it is and I accept it in all its dumpster fire glory. But I still go there from time-to-time (when I'm in a region of the country that has them; Las Vegas does not have them).

Chicken and waffles is a fabulous combo - famous place or otherwise.

There are few things more American than knowing something is a bad idea and stubbornly insisting on doing it anyway.

why take pride in a restaurant especially one that practiced racially segregated seating and service quality based on race and also discriminatory policies towards the LGBTQ community all the way up until the early 2000s?i had fam that lived in Nashville during the '90s always knew that place was hella racist.
My elementary school teacher was wife to Dan Jennings. Both my parents are career in the company formerly known as Kenneth O. Lester that was the sole food distributor for CB. I worked at both KOL and Bay’s Southern Bread to put myself through college. I’m proud of what the Jennings family, the Lester family, the Bay family and my family have taught me. I am proud to know something about the company that helps my home town thrive and gave me opportunities to make something of myself.

There is never a shortage of people to put me down for where I am from and try to make feel bad about it. I refuse to be stereotyped and I refuse to be shamed for where I am from and how I got to who I am today. I don’t know any businesses of this tenure who don’t have a past with these types of issues. I can, however, name the ones who haven’t capitulated as times changed. People change. I’ve changed.

P.S. I actually worked exactly one week at a CB in food prep. I bailed and and vowed to never work in food service again. Big ups to those people!

Hardly anyone serves maple syrup anymore. It’s maple flavored corn syrup. I refuse to eat that shit. Speaking of Cracker Barrel, for a long time their little bottles they served were 100% maple syrup. Nowadays, it’s a 50/50 blend with honey but does still contain maple syrup.
