Talking U2 with you too.

Summer/Fall 2023 looking like a US/Europe tour.

Over the last week we’ve been given information about a number of different stadium bookings. A previously reliable source on tour information has shared that Soldier Field has been booked for two shows by U2 for late Summer / early Fall. We’ve been told that the band has also booked a stadium for next summer in Dublin over the last few days. And KROQ radio hinted that an Irish band booked several dates for Sofi stadium for shows in 2023 this week before playing “Where the Streets Have No Name” (Thanks to Monopoly for that information!) Sofi stadium is a new venue, opened in late 2022 in Inglewood, California.

Hope they don't follow the Springsteen pricing model.
I did not get verified for Springsteen (tried for Baltimore, MSG & Newark) I honestly cannot remember that last time I was verified for any show, I'm always waitlisted. Anyway, I decided that I'd try for Philly since there was no verified or any other presale. Got all set up 20 mins before the sale and finally, about 3 mins after 10:00, I was thrown into the queue with the little walking man.

He was not moving at all. I decided to try on my phone as well, and went up to the hospital to get some x-rays taken, stopped at the liquor store to pick up a few items and brought lunch home for my husband and me. My little man on my laptop had barely moved by the time I got back home, and I was home for at least an hour before it was finally my turn. It took over 3 1/2 hours to get my chance to choose tickets, and though I knew they were long gone, I tried just for fun.

I was stunned when I was able to pull a pair of GA's!!! Success!!!! Oh wait, then I looked at the price.... beyond insanity.

The good thing to remember in comparison of Springsteen vs. U2 prices. Bruce is doing arenas so less seats and if this info is true, that means stadiums for U2. Supply/demand may be more in your favor here.

Thats worse for me because I'm afraid of heights so I don't do upper level stadium seats. I always have to shell out for lower level.

Yes, but I'm really not a fan of stadium shows :(

I think GA's for E&i were about $105 each... somewhere in that price range, they could have been as high as $120 all in with fees. Can't remember how much GA's were for JT30.

I'm not a fan of stadium shows either but U2 is my favorite of all time and it's all on their terms. They could easily stop touring whenever they wanted; especially as they are all getting older.

Plus to be brutally honest and I know this is a rough way to think, but once 1 of them passes away, it's definitely a wrap for the group. There is no replacing a member.

I just looked through my old emails :

GA tickets to Joshua Tree 30 tour in Santa Clara in 2017 were around $92 each all in (stadium)
GA tickets to I+E tour in San Jose in 2015 were around $86 each all in (arena)

A friend bought my lower level VIP ticket to Joshua Tree 30 in New Jersey in 2017 and while I'm not sure what she paid, I imagine they were not cheap.
