Any Desus and Mero fans in the house? They might be hosting the only late night show whose overall quality has not been affected by the Covid outbreak. And maybe John Oliver but you can definitely see the moments on his latest, sparse broadcast where you'd expect a round of applause. I admire Colbert and the others for trying but they really need audience participation.

The first time I had ever heard of them was their Hot Ones episode, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I've since caught a couple of their shows. Really enjoyable banter.

I JUST bought this on Blu Ray because it wasn't streaming anywhere!!

Oh well, worth it.
Yeah I'd still like to buy the Blu-Ray set at some point because I guarantee it won't be on Netflix forever, and I prefer the ability to watch something whenever I want rather than whenever Netflix allows me to

We’ve recently been watching the British series Taskmaster on YouTube. It is the perfect amount of goofy fun to veg out to in stressful times. Brits, I wish we had more panel shows like yours.
The Brits absolutely murder with their panel and chat shows. Between 8 out of 10 Cats and the Graham Norton Show our late night folks should be feeling a sense of gross inadequacy.

We still haven’t watched more than the first episode. Worth it, I take it?

It's definitely a trippy series. Not super fast paced or action packed, but I still liked it. It kind of seems like everyone is connected to each other somehow. If the Outer Limits and the Twilight Zone were mixed together with a sprinkle of Black Mirror = this show IMO. Some things happen because of people, and other things happen because of undefined reasons. Sorry to be vague, but I don't want to ruin anything for you guys. Let me know what you think!

Did you watch the next episode of Run, @Indymisanthrope ? It was a bit better than the first 2. The addition of Archie and getting off the damn train is helping. But man, I still just don't like them as human beings.

Anyone watched Penny Dreadful: City of Angels last night? I thought the first ep. was really good. Looking forward to see what happens next.

I binged the whole Penny Dreadful series last year. I liked it a lot. I fear that this is on a channel that I don't have so I'll have to wait for it to hit Netflix. It hasn't received the best reviews (but so what). Natalie Dormer is usually a very intriguing actress so I'm sure I'll check this out when it is available to me.

It's on Showtime and Crave here in Canada. Yes Natalie Dormer is an interesting actress. She plays multiple characters in this one and nails it.

I might have to do a 30 day free Showtime trial here soon. There are several shows I want to watch.

Vida - I watched S1 on Amazon Prime and I really liked it. I hear this upcoming season is the last.
The new L Word - yes, I know. Complete trash. But it is my duty to watch it.
Penny Dreadful City of Angels

I'm sure there are other shows I'd dig. But that is where I would start.

Not yet, we watched the Beastie Boys doc last night instead. I'm going to have trouble not seeing Archie as Kalinda from The Good Wife.

I never got through the first season of the original series. It just wasn't the series I was hoping it would be. It looked great, but the whole thing felt kinda inert & lifeless to me, and I lost interest. Maybe if I tried again I could just appreciate it as its own thing, but it feels like it would just be a chore.

It was not a light and cheery show, by any means. But Rory Kinnear was really good in it.

And yep, I forgot about the Beasties Boys doc. I'll have to watch that. Ha, Kalinda was the best part of The Good Wife and I had no interest in finishing that show after she left.

Saaame! Whatever offscreen drama that supposedly happened between her and Julianna Margulies really ruined one of the best aspects of the show. I mean, it was a show that suffered from a lot of loose ends due to guest stars having sporadic availability in their schedules anyway, but whatever happened between those two specifically was bizarre.

It also made me just not want to watch anymore. I've heard other rumblings of Julianna being challenging to work with. I have not watched the last season of The Good Wife yet. It is sitting in my queue just waiting. And waiting. I am thinking of just deleting it because if I wasn't pressed/excited to watch it when it first came out, I'm quite certain the excitement is not going to build at this point. I also hear The Good Fight is very very good and I do not want the ending of The Good Wife to tempt me into taking on another show.

I LOVE the original series. I was really hesitant to watch this one because I'm not sure how they could do a better series than the original Penny Dreadful. If you say this good, then I'll give it a shot.
