Television

I had no idea this was continuing. I barely remember it, but wasn't the first season a pretty self contained story?
I thought so too, but apparently they figured something out because early reviews are unanimously favorable thus far
You forgot Winning Time (currently my favorite new show of this season) and We Own This City.
I was going to include that but hesitated due to all the controversy surrounding accuracy. I will say I’m enjoying it and Jason Clarke kills it as Jerry West. Really everyone is great. Brody as Pat Riley, Reilly as Buss. I have quite a bit of confidence that these are fairly accurate portrayals tbh

So much TV on right now, it's like the post-covid golden age. Better Call Saul, Ozark resumes tomorrow, new season of Undone tomorrow, Barry, Severance, Atlanta, Maisel, The Boys in June. Shooooweeeeee
I really wish Ozark (and most Netflix series, actually) would do a weekly drop. I know Netflix will never do it but it's a show I don't want to binge, I'd prefer to watch once a week and discuss throughout the week until the next episode (like BCS, Euphoria, Succession, etc)

Yeah, I think it’s closer to reality than what they present as their public persona but also I have gone on Wikipedia a lot to kinda fact check things as I am watching and they do tend to take a lot of creative license even with the hard facts. If you look at games/schedule as played in real life vs. the show and there are quite a few alterations. Still, it’s such a blast it doesn’t effect my enjoyment the show.

I really enjoy the show as well, and have no issues with them exaggerating some of the real life personas. But I totally agree - having them lose games in the series when in fact they won is just silly.

Seeing his Hot Ones episode gave me a lot more insight into that guy and a lot of respect for his acting. He almost always plays a guy you're not supposed to like and he does it so well, but he seems like a pretty cool guy in real life.

Jon Bernthal is the coolest and nobody could ever convince me otherwise. I'll watch just about anything he's in. Is his new show good? Doesn't matter. I'm gonna watch it. 😎😎😎😎

I'm thinking of making buttons that say, "Jon Bernthal was the best actor in King Richard." 🤔

I liked the Ozark finale. It’s seemingly controversial for a couple reasons:

I think Ruth could’ve been left alone and a strong implication left with the audience that Clare would eventually break. Tying up that loose end was unnecessary and gratuitous IMO.

The twist ending should have been enough to tide the audience over. But again, we should have been left with a cliffhanger surrounding whether or not Jonah pulled the trigger. The cop should have known that breaking and entering to retrieve evidence wouldn’t hold up in court regardless, so not sure what his endgame was. Either way, was a fun ride.

Just started wasn't expecting a Killer Mike cameo to ensure everyones dad's understood the meaning behind the Illmatic music selection.
