Unbelievably cheap used copies from the UK - shipping was more than the books themselves and it still all came to just under $10/book! Thanks to the other book on The Wire that I grabbed from the library a few weeks back, and my weekly dose of We Own This City, David Simon has been a real mood for me...

Nice! I ordered a copy of Homicide: A Year On The Killing Streets to accompany my watching of Homicide (which is excellent) and We Own This City.

Barry was already dark, but wow, I think his character hit a new level this season. I'm only two episodes in and I'm loving it yet it's kind of a tough watch.
I just saw it was renewed for a 4th season too and Bill Hader is set to direct the entire season.

Also, I am caught up but episode 4 and it’s a weird episode. It feels almost like a season finale with how many of the storylines seemingly are wrapped up.

I know there might be come complaints out there about the lack of the core group of characters on this season of Atlanta (because of the anthology-like episodes), but I loved this season. And that finale was wild, unexpected, incredible (and that post credits scene was great). I am so happy it was an episode devoted to Van. And like it didn’t go any way I expected. At all. That’s the beauty of this show. It felt bizarre, horrifying, funny, and even moving. Can’t wait that final season later this year.

Well now I'm caught up on Barry. The new season definitely feels like a pretty big shift in many ways. But at the same time, it's not something that I am disliking. I think it's the most logical way to follow up last season, and yet it remains surprising every single episode so far. This is still such an exciting show, even if it's gotten progressively darker, because I feel like I'm never sure exactly where storylines are going.

Van has been going through some shit all season. Damn. That episode was excellent and the entire season was phenomenal. I thought that was gonna be her luggage at the end. Is there already a premier date for the next season?

the next season is supposedly coming out in the fall, but they haven’t given a firm date yet. It’s already done though.
