Television

Try Nailed It on Netflix. On paper it's a "dumb-as-fuck" reality show, but after a while it gets really funny and enjoyable,

I LOVE Alone!

Juan Pablo is probably the most hardcore winner in the whole show. I don't think anyone would even attempt something like that (no fire, not boiling water for almost the whole time).

There's still technically another season called "Alone: Frozen" where some contestants return to compete much closer to winter time so they have less time to prepare. Idk why it's not season 10, but it's the same show just titled differently.
I saw Alone: Frozen on the Hulu menu...is it worth watching?

Cobra Kai is good background TV.

Abbot Elementary is very easy, safe, comfort TV but not necessarily background TV (although maybe it is?).

Lately, I’ve put on the pilot or finale episodes of TV shows I missed out on and have no plans to actually watch. Did that with Just Shoot Me, Two and a Half Men, and That 70’s Show and it’s entertaining to see how they start/end without caring how they progress/lead to that point.
News Radio is another fun one, and when are they going to put Northern Exposure on a streaming platform???

what are y’all’s favorite or go-to tv shows that you let play but don’t really have to pay attention to
I've been re-watching Detroiters on repeat on Paramount+. It's so funny.

Yeah, they're the leads, Sam Richardson (Veep & Ted Lasso) and Tim Robinson (I Think You Should Leave). It's a buddy comedy about two small time tv commercial creators that make low budget tv ads for small businesses.

It’s fucking weird in the best way possible. It’s like a the sitcom version of I Think You Should Leave (but obviously preceded it).

Watched the first couple episodes of Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities and thought they were a ton of fun. Nothing deep or thought provoking, but good, old-fashioned scary stories with some pretty horrifying monster design and stylish direction. Perfect spooky season, or, if you are me, random January viewing.

Three episodes into Atlanta. Liking it.

Ok...late night binge-watching as I do some admin work.

Ep. 7 B.A.N.
Alright, Atlanta gets weird. I hope these type of left-field episodes pepper the show. It's weirdness at times reminded me of Tim Robinson's I Think You Should Leave. The trans-racial, 35-year old white dude had me going. And that cereal wolf....

YES! It absolutely gets more surreal from there. It’s really, really fun. Season two is amazing.
