Wow the fishes ep of The Bear was unreal. I didn't know how I'd feel about the plethora of cameos, but it all really worked. They all felt like they fit in perfectly.
Not really cameos as much as guest stars. They all had substantial parts. The whole thing plays like a short movie or holiday special than anything else. Everyone was doing quality work and Jamie Lee Curtis probably secured herself an Emmy.

Mostly here to say that S3 of Dave was sooo good. Most underrated show on television, and I don't think I'll laugh harder all year than I did during the Brad Pitt heavy finale.

Really hope it gets renewed. But if it doesn't it actually ended on a high note and in a way that works.

Also:

S2 of Yellow Jackets kinda went off the rails at the end their. Typical Showtime.

Succession's last season wrapped perfectly and I don't think I would have wanted a S5.

Beef was fun. Too bad I accidentally watched epsidoe 10 ahead of 9.

Oh and I don't think I ever checked back in after binging the Leftovers. Definitely as good as it's cult advertised it to be.

Gonna do s2 of the Bear next but then will be kind of rudderless. Any suggestions?

Echoing everyone's sentiment on The Bear season 2. Thought season 1 was pretty good and entertaining but maybe not as masterful as everyone else seemed to think. This one is really steps ahead. Some really dense and layered character growth on top of some of the most horrific and joyful tv moments in recent memory. Very compelling. Excellent performances from everyone, but especially the guest cast, including JLC in a career high. Very happy with this.

Started watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and it’s very good! I didn’t know what to expect going into it but it’s a delight. Season 2 when they go to the Catskills was so much fun. Almost done with season 2 and it keeps getting better and better.

Also… does anyone else see it?

I really enjoy Platonic (Rose Byrne is a gem) and it's been out for a bit but Shrinking is great, too.

We’ve been binging Newhart and News Radio in the evenings before bed, both are really funny and comfortable shows.

Also, if anyone is a game show nerd, the streaming app Xumo has a The Price Is Right the Bob Barker years channel that is currently airing episodes from 1983. We watched A LOT of that last night.

I watched the new Night Court (which is not great) and now I'm watching the original, which I haven't seen since I was a kid.

Love the classic Night Court! It doesn’t completely hit its stride until Markie Post shows up but the the season one Christmas episode with the Michael J Fox guest spot was fun one. We’ve haven’t rewatched that whole series yet, just a few episodes here and there but maybe we will give it a go once we finish up with these other two.

The Michael J Fox one was great. It was fun to watch him an A-hole. Almost every episode has some sort of cameo by somebody who is much more popular later on.

The new Night Court has John Laroquette, and another original member of the cast shows up in the first season finale.
