I rewatched season 1 too. It really helps keep all the characters straight considering how many were played by multiple different actors.

My thoughts exactly. That's part of why I keep my sub. The quality is always top notch even on the shows I'm meh on.
They got a record number of emmy nominations this year as well. More than any other network or streaming service.
AppleTV shows are great in my opinion. But like John Oliver said, AppleTV+ is where big stars go to hide.
One of the things that cracks me up about AppleTV+ is Android fanboys. Even though the AppleTV+ App is available for Android, Android TV, or Roku and FireTVs, they will never install it / subscribe. It's like it's their religion or something to avoid it. They will torrent shows like Ted Lasso over using an Apple service any day. Well, at least the majority of them.

If you are fans of the Wire or David Simon in general, I highly encourage you to watch Homicide: Life on the Street. It is finally coming to streaming on August 19th on Peacock. The late and great Andre Braugher, Richard Belzer, and Yaphet Kotto all head the cast along with Melissa Leo, Daniel Baldwin, Ned Beatty, Clark Johnson, and Kyle Secor. You will notice a good number of repeating themes and storylines from The Wire as this was the precursor to it. The acting is top notch. There are tons of great cameos and guest stars like Robin Williams, Elijah Woods, Steve Buscemi, J.K. Simmons, David Morse, Dean Winters, and Chris Rock.

There are some things that I will forewarn you about. They do enjoy double and triple repeating of actions and camera shots for emphasis such as slamming a door as well as using the score in a similar fashion. It can be a bit jarring. Like the music portion of the Wire right before the credits open. But man, that opening credits to Homicide is so awesome. Andre Braugher never won an Emmy for his work on that show and it's an f'ing crime. It was also a show that NBC just didn't know what to do with. It was shown out of order and you had to guess if it would appear on Friday nights. It was very frustrating trying to take it in. I'd imagine there are some episodes I probably never saw because of that.
