Forgot Curtis covered em too..This has been doing absolutely nothing for me.
Hilariously, The Carpenters are a favourite of my mom's as well, so she's 1 and 1 in this challenge so far - Harrison was a win, Carpenters were not.
This feels like cream of wheat for the ears.
1/5
This was one of my favorite albums in the 90s and the CD got a lot of time in my discman. It doesn't quite pack the same punch that it did for me as a teenager, but lyrically I still love it. 4/5.

It's not as strange as it sounds...Out in the west Texas town of El Paso Gap fell in love with a Country album?
Right on!It's not as strange as it sounds...
I do like this album quite a bit. Marty Robbins has a great voice and the instrumental backing compliments him very well. The goofy album cover undersells how morbid this thing is; someone dies in almost every song. It's awesome. Also this has to be one of the first ever concept albums right? Although I guess In the Wee Small Hours predates this by a few years. Still, impressive that this actually sounds like a cohesive set of songs.
I'll probably give this one a 4. See, I don't hate country!
My favorites are Big Iron, Cool Water, They're Hanging Me Tonight, The Master's Call (this one especially) and Running Gun
Another of the groups I’m not looking forward to.View attachment 165295
Remarkably, I'm not sure I've ever listened to the Eagles. Sure, I know a couple of songs from background play/covers but I've never listened to them properly. Seems perfectly decent but harmless country rock. 2/5
This is even before they leaned into the Jazz-Rock fusion. If you don’t dig this you’ll probably really hate Aja.Selected for me today:

Oh man, I'm definitely team @Mather on this one.
Not into at all.

“Dirty Work” slaps! But keep in mind I have learned to embrace yacht Rock over the past year too.
I was actually surprised I already knew several songs from this album (Do it again, Dirty Work, Only a Fool Would Say That and Reelin' in the Years). I am embarrassed to admit I thought some of them were Eagles songs“Dirty Work” slaps! But keep in mind I have learned to embrace yacht Rock over the past year too.
