The Blue Note Thread

Soul station came in poly sleeves if I remember correctly. Funny enough, of the last 2, only one showed the scratches (can't remember which now). But like the Mobley and Blackey before, it was inaudible (to me).
I swear mine was in a paper sleeve, but either way I returned it since it was very noisy. It was my first BN80, Classic, Tone Poet return and I have bought a ton of them. Also just ordered the Kenny Burrell and Grant Green upcoming Classics as well

Just received my copy of Dexter Gordon's Go! Blue Note Classic pressing. I haven't spun it yet, but it does not suffer from the micro scratches that Blakey's Moanin', Jimmy Smith's Back at the Chicken Shack, and maybe the Mobley BN Classics had.

Looks like Optimal is using the same poly inner sleeves, so still unsure what the culprit was for those issues. Anyways, Go! looks like a perfect pressing. Have to clean it up and spin it.

Looks like were quietly ? getting to some BN repressings on earlier OOP ? Any guesses what else might be coming next soon or what your wishing for ? I know I'd love the Art Pepper and Chick Corea repressed, any others ?
I noticed Nigeria was restocked at some places recently. And one or two others but can’t remember which to be honest.

Zev Feldman had an 2 interviews for RSD with a 3rd to highlight the Lee Morgan Complete Live At The Lighthouse box set.

He actually had a copy that he showed on camera and it looks to be insane. All AAA, 6 thick laminated gatefold jackets housing the 12LP's, a comprehensive booklet with tons of photos and interviews (edited by Jeff McMillan, who wrote one of Morgan's biographies). Cant wait for it to be finally released.

Zev - 'I'm lost for words'

He really isn't 😂

Am I right in thinking it's been pushed back to August?

Thanks for sharing, great interview!

I am still on the fence about this set, but leaning toward purchasing. Feel as though I will regret it down the line if I don't wind up getting it.

IF the pressings are good then I can see this being a set that I dig into a lot. Its certainly not cheap though.
Agreed. The fact that it’s live music and not a set of demos, outtakes, etc. means I will probably be more inclined to listen. I never find myself digging into those kinda of box sets. And the already released material is killer stuff.
