I apologise to your walletAwesome! I just talked myself out of bidding on some OG blue notes that are marked as VG though so you may have pulled me back in...

I had my eye on a Dizzy Reece OG and there's an OG of Moanin up on ebay...Reece had no bids until a few minutes ago and already jumped up. Moanin still has no bids but I already have a different pressing of it...so maybe I will still hold out. You just didn't help!I apologise to your wallet
Well either of those would be fantastic wins!! I have 2 big records on their way to me and after that im planning on easing off for a while (even as I typed that im wondering who im trying to kid).I had my eye on a Dizzy Reece OG and there's an OG of Moanin up on ebay...Reece had no bids until a few minutes ago and already jumped up. My copy of Uncompromising Expressions arrived in the mail today. Its HUUUGE. Feels like a first year Psychology text book. Maybe I need to get a pack of index cards so I can start taking notes and be able to cram for the final exam

I have the Uncompromising Expressions, Verve 'The Sound of America' and Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz on the bottom shelf of my bookcase. Way too worried about weight to put them anywhere elseThis makes me want this book even more.
Listening to this copy of Freedom Rider now...it sounds amazing! If anyone remembers me posting about getting a white B copy that was remastered by Ralph Eck, I gotta say that as soon as I started listening to this it was clearly superior.Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers - The Freedom Rider
1966 Division of Liberty Stereo reissue
I posted a white B label Freedom Rider I got not too long ago, but I sent that one back for not having a "VAN GELDER" stamp as it claimed. I decided to go for something a little better and got this. This does have the "VAN GELDER" "STEREO" stamps.

Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers - Mosaic
1978 white B UA reissue
This is kind of interested to me because it has an "RVG STEREO" stamp, whereas my understanding is that this stamper usually denotes earlier pressings, with "VAN GELDER" appearing on later represses. Gonna have to look into what this means. Same stamper used even longer? Hope not.

Grant Green - Idle Moments
This MMJ I scored for a nice price replaces my 75th Anniversary copy. Gonna be looking to PIF that out soon.

Has anyone seen the new Blue Note Documentary? Blue Note: Beyond The Notes
Really want to see it but theres no listings near me.
I believe it's available to stream on Starz and will likely be on other streaming platforms in the near future!
Oooooh I didnt know that. I will look into streaming it tomorrow night then. Quite a nice friday session!I believe it's available to stream on Starz and will likely be on other streaming platforms in the near future!
Watching now, and liking it quite a lot. Love the montage of Reid miles covers. No one has had such a legacy when it comes to album covers. Blue Train is not coltranes best, but that cover is legitimate artI believe it's available to stream on Starz and will likely be on other streaming platforms in the near future!
Nice! I really have to pick up that book. EDIT: it was on sale on Amazon for a pretty good price...so I grabbed a copy.Watching now, and liking it quite a lot. Love the montage of Reid miles covers. Ooh...what's the difference between that one and this one aside from $10 price tag?? I ordered the one I linked...Anyone else that wants that Blue Note book, there's 7 more copies at $40!
You aren't really gonna leave us hanging on what pressings those are, are you???
Nice catch, I didn't notice it wasn't prime shipping! Awesome scores!Ooh...what's the difference between that one and this one aside from $10 price tag?? I ordered the one I linked...
EDIT: seems like the one you linked is international shipping and not prime so works out to be a little more expensive. Seems like the same book but maybe a later edition?
Both pressings are UA represses (black B and blue label) but have the VG stamper. Ike looks like it has never been spun before and is still in shrink. It was $35 on discogs. I'm perfectly happy with it but there was no note about the corner of the cover being chopped off so not sure if I should complain? Spinning it now and it sounds really good though, no surface noise. I took a chance on the Wayne Shorter at $20 on discogs from the same seller and even though it was marked at VG, it also looks like it has never been played! I might scope out what else the seller has listed now that I know there's a chance they are conservatively graded.
I bought a used copy, its in good shape with only some light wear. Cost like 28 bucks. Never hurts to try usedAnyone else that wants that Blue Note book, there's 7 more copies at $40!

It's fantastic. Mine is super clean and quiet too. The Night Dreamer pressing sounds quite nice too!I have that same Ike pressing, sounds pretty great to me.
Mine came through Abe books. It was someplace in the UK (Book Depository I think). $42USD. Was listed as store return but was still in its shrink wrap.I bought a used copy, its in good shape with only some light wear. Cost like 28 bucks. Never hurts to try used
