The Crate Digging & Bargain Bin Finds Thread

A $5 bargain bin find last week while on vacation. Origional tag marked 2 for $1 (You have to allow for 50 years of of inflation 😊). A SEALED 1974 copy of ACE Five-A-Side. Featuring a young Paul Carrick on vocals. and a cool inner sleeve of Anfield stadium in Liverpool, UK. This shop had a stack of these so I was able to pick the best looking sealed copy. They had a sticker that said do not open these.

An interesting assortment of records at a thrift shop today. Just over $6 for the lot.

The Black Angels RSD 10" probably will be my keeper of the bunch. Think I'll trade the others at my local.

This was one of the albums that was in the dumpster box that also had the RL LZII. I think I may have purged it for the move to Oregon.

I was looking for a copy of this album not to long ago because it was a jukebox staple at the bar I worked at a couple decades ago. Then this morning for the first time ever Goodwill had a couple records I actually wanted that were in decent shape, including this one for $0.50 each!

Picked this up for 90 cents at a local thrift. 10 LP box set, by Holy Hawk Record Co. Ltd, so from Taiwan and likely "unofficial." I don't know whether this kind of music is ever sampled, but would be kind of cool for a 70's dj. Or maybe just nostalgia... And it's so rare there isn't even a discogs listing for it! ;)

Here's the tracklist by record. Quite a range of musical styles.

I fucked up this time around. Thought I'd had a haul to be pretty happy about, $30 for a functioning Dual 1209 turntable with dustcover (hidden behind the records in the photo) plus 10 desirable albums for which the vinyl looked good. But what I somehow failed to notice at the shop when i was looking at the records is that they're all a bit dish-warped, clearly as a result of poor storage. I'm bummed, but at $2 each, I really can't complain (especially since I should have figured it out before I bought them!!). Still kind of stoked about the turntable ($10!), even though I have absolutely no use for it. Always fun to tinker with this stuff.
