From 1959 - 1988 Motown records managed to win AOTY 4 times (3 of them were Stevie lol). Play an album by your favorite record label

Far too new to stake a claim as an all-timer, like Impulse!, Shabaka Hutchings' Native Rebel Recordings is probably my favourite new label of the last couple of years - everything has been great so far but this, their first release, is still the best.

Day 26
  • Michael Jackson - Thriller
    • This is the best selling album of all time (I could have sworn The Eagles overtook it but i guess not??), Play an album off the best selling of all time list
Dark Side Of The Moon is their best seller, but it's the last Pink Floyd album I ever reach for. Majorly burned out on it over the years.

Howsabout I play the album without playing "the album". This has been my DSOTM for a few years and it's so good...

Easy Star All-Stars - Dub Side Of the Moon

  • Celine Dion - Falling Into You
    • This won AOTY for the year I was born! Play your Favorite album from the year you were born
A long time ago, on a turntable far, far away....

Miles Davis - Someday My Prince Will Come

Ramzi - Hyphea

Music From Memory has become my favorite label sometime in the past three years. They have done a phenomenal job with putting out music from various electronic-adjacent artists that share a very relaxed and calm vibe for the sake of the label, but come from various corners of the world. Even when their music outside of their MFM release(s) aren't typically ambient in nature.
Late last year, Ramzi (a personae of Phoebé Guillemot from Quebec), made her debut on this label with a lovely selection of Balearic, tribal ambient chillers.

Lets go with Angel Olsen's My Woman!
Day 28

Phil Collins - No Jacket Required
After Lionel Richie beat Bruce Springsteen and Prince for AOTY, the Grammys implemented the extremely controversial secret committees to pick winners to avoid "mistake" like this (and look how well that worked out). So Collins is the first committee approved winner. For this theme have someone else pick (including the discog randomizer) an album for you to listen to

Looks like @Fleetwood-Matt went with the first album I bought when I started collecting vinyl. Can't complain; still one of my top50 all time and haven't played it in a while.

Day 27 - Jagged Little Pill includes "You Oughta Know" which is one of the most cutting "Fuck You" songs of all time! play an album with a great "Fuck You" song

Today featured a beautiful spring evening with a walk to our favorite joint, Arbor Brewing. Had an extra few ounces because we were on foot.
I read the prompt for today and, well, it's my wife's all time favorite album so we had to play the album named.

Who's around? Can one of you guys select my next play for the Lionel Ritchie prompt?

I may ask to pick again if I need to dig the record out of my storage boxes. But chances are the more recent the acquisition, the more likely it's in the shelves.
