The March Record Spin Challenge - The Grammy Award for Album of the Year Challenge

Day 25 - This album opens and closes with Toto's two best songs (Rosanna and Africa respectivly) play an album where the first and/or last song is the best on the album

Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed

I almost played this for the favorite album prompt, it's definitely top three and sometimes favorite. (I played another top one in Physical Graffiti for a recent prompt.)
Annnnyway, hard to argue with the Gimme Shelter/You Can't Always Get What You Want opening/closing combo. Sublime.

Side note: I bought the light shown here for a video project, but it sure is working out swell tonight too.

Aurora Borealis!? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within your living room!?

Day 21
Play a Disco or a Dance Album

Since this day includes playing a soundtrack I figured I'd just do soundtracks for both...with the S/T for Prom Night being plenty Disco.

Day 25
Toto - IV

This album opens and closes with Toto's two best songs (Rosanna and Africa respectivly) play an album where the first and/or last song is the best on the album

Sheila E. – In The Glamorous Life
20230325_210957.jpg

The first song ("Belle Of St. Mark") is the second-best song on the album and the last song {"The Glamorous Life") may well be the best of her entire catalogue.

Day 25

Bob Dylan - Time Out of Mind
Bob Dylan finally got some Grammy respect on his 30th album 35 years into his career! Play a great late career album

Hikaru Utada (ヒカル宇多田) - BAD モード

23 years after dropping First Love, Hikki-san released this amazing record, experimenting with trip-hop and house in doing so. I think it might be my favorite of theirs, though Deep River is also quite wonderful.
I want to see Utada in concert so badly, but probably never gonna happen unless I will live in Japan full time. 😞

Day 25

Day 26
Celine Dion - Falling Into You
This won AOTY for the year I was born! Play your Favorite album from the year you were born

I have so many "favorites" from 1971. Sticky Fingers. LZ IV. Maggot Brain. Hunky Dory. LA Woman. Tapestry. Pearl. There's A Riot Going On. Imagine. Just As I Am. Histoire De Melody Nelson. Shaft. Meddle. Al Green Gets Next To You. At Fillmore East. And there are even more that are loved by many. Any of these could be #1 in any other given year while some wouldn't even make the top 10 in 71. But this one is the top for me...

Patrice Rushen – Posh

Not my favourite album from the year I was born but the one from my modest handful of 1980 releases that I most wanted to listen to over dinner with my wife this evening.
