I really have no idea how a live album became my #1 favorite considering I usually don't like them very much. But not only is it my favorite, it's also the release that I have the most copies of...but I'm slowly weeding some out by adding doubles I have of them to Secret Santa packages and such.

Day 22
Billy Joel - 52nd Street
This was the first album to be released commercially on CD! play a CD or an album that you also own on CD
Angelique Kidjo – Remain In Light
My CD copy is in a booklet in my trunk under a bunch of kids toys and books right now, but it's seen a LOT of play over the past few years. It took forever to track down and then the first copy had a skip so I had to wait another few weeks for a replacement. But it was absolutely worth it.
This album opens and closes with Toto's two best songs (Rosanna and Africa respectively) play an album where the first and/or last song is the best on the album
Two powerful bookends...
An actual live TV performance (no lip-sync) from 1967. The crowd is hypnotised...
The Doors - S/T
Bob Dylan - Time Out of Mind
Bob Dylan finally got some Grammy respect on his 30th album 35 years into his career! Play a great late career album
Hard to top this being the last song on your last record.
Thanks for everything, mailman. I hope you're still smoking that 9-mile cigarette...
Day 25, Pt. 2: Bob Dylan - Time Out of Mind
Bob Dylan finally got some Grammy respect on his 30th album 35 years into his career! Play a great late career album
Thurston Moore - By The Fire
Thurston’s first album with Sonic Youth was released in 1982. By The Fire was released 38 years later. I feel like saying “late career” probably isn’t even entirely accurate as similarly to Dylan, I suspect more will be shredding on his guitar until his fingers turn to dust which I hope is a long time from now.
Christopher Cross - Christopher Cross
If you ask me this album is an underrated classic! play an album that you love that most other do not
Tei Shi - Crawl Space
I'm pretty sure a majority of this forum not only doesn't care for this album, but also are unaware of who she is. I love this debut record, but it's also the only release of hers that I find enthralling, considering the follow up LP and other scattered EPs. A unique fusion of alt-pop, synthpop, contemporary R&B, and (I suppose) art pop.
Especially bummed that I have to be away for her upcoming Portland date.
