I'm really disappointed, was so hoping to get the test press this week. I think I've ordered four different editions: test press, turquoise marble, grey marble, clear... oh, I also ordered the sea blue from vinylmnky... haven't heard from them yet. I wonder if my local shop will get the regular black pressing in on Friday... if so, I may pick it up there. I really want my first full listen to be on wax rather than via the download.Real bummer for the test pressing folks.
Yeah I was hoping my first listen would be with the physical record too, but I guess not cause I don’t feel like waiting however long it’ll be.I'm really disappointed, was so hoping to get the test press this week. Yeah, the sticker on pic 2 says indie exclusive blue vinyl but even if it’s black I’ll be ok with it.I think it is blue, it is just the light. Looks like a dark blue to me.
I listened while walking the pup this morning and really enjoyed it. It's funny, the song with Gail Ann Dorsey came on and I thought oh, did it just shuffle on to I Am Easy to Find? How do you all feel about the album? I’m only halfway through (cause I have to work) but the easygoing feeling of it is really nice right now.
Indie Exclusive must be excluded from this because I got a shipping notice from Bull Moose yesterdayI have to keep telling myself not to get bent out of shape about vinyl shipping delays during a pandemic.

It’s funny, I was listening on an unusually warm 75 degree morning in SF while staring at the Golden Gate Bridge without a cloud in the sky and all I could think was bring on the fog and 50 degree weather so I can enjoy this album as it’s meant to be heard!I think he definitely went for a very consistent style, mood, and vibe and it totally works for me. Also pretty perfect for this season.
Yeah pretty much. Perfectly pleasant, nice to hear him in this context. It really doesn’t sound like the National much anywhere. But just his voice and the stripped back music...sounds so effortlessly cool and calm.My initial reaction to the singles were that they were kind of plain. They still are (other than One More Second which is a legit standout) but it feels much more deliberate and purposeful in the context of the whole album, which is essentially a self-assured, middle-aged Matt Berninger sitting on a bar stool, shaking the ice around in his cocktail glass, and doing the thing he does very well while some calm, comfortable music plays behind him.
