It is definitely NOT the album I would suggest as an introduction them. There's nothing bad about this album. But there's also not anything particularly interesting. Reminds me of the indie band The Goon Sax.
Alright, @jamieanderson1968 and @whatwhatsaywhat tell me what I’m missing here.
I'll check out some of your other suggestions. I can definitely hear how there's some potential there. It is definitely NOT the album I would suggest as an introduction them.
Also the band features Martyn Casey who is one of the longest serving Bad Seeds
Apple off. This was their major label debut.Apple Music has this album and Born Sandy Devotional under Compilations. Are they actually compilations or is Apple Music just off?
It reminds me of Gang of Youths. It was definitely better in the second half. Region unknown was the standout for me. The opener, the one I mentioned above and Blinder by the Hour just played like bad CCM.There's nothing bad about this album. But there's also not anything particularly interesting. Yeah. I typed my impression about halfway through and then the songs started to get a little better. It reminds me of Gang of Youths. It was definitely better in the second half. Same. I might give it another listen later and might try @jamieanderson1968 and @whatwhatsaywhat’s recs somedayYeah. I typed my impression about halfway through and then the songs started to get a little better.
Can’t recommend Born Sandy Devotional enough. One of my top 10 albums. Wide Open Road is an absolute corker of a song. The first time I listened to Gang of Youths I could hear the Triffids influence.Same. I might give it another listen later and might try @jamieanderson1968 and @whatwhatsaywhat’s recs someday
