There are times when you have to wonder what all the people who made the book were thinking.
So when we have a shit band appear we still revert to talking about the manics?
Anyone else get this cryptic email today?

Done.We really need to rename this thread
“The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if todays selection sucks)”
We’ve been a quite a streak of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I knew Destroyer!We’ve been a quite a streak of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
more out there like if Bowie, Sparks and Devo collabed.
Pretty spot on. Owned a copy since the late 80s but rarely listen to it anymore. Highly influential on Belle & Sebastian. Not sure if it needs to be in the book.I guess I can hear how this fits in with the other New Romantic stuff, but this borders on Bowie/Eno type experimentation. It’s pretty far removed from Adam Ant or Depeche Mode. Maybe more akin to OMD but honestly a little more out there like if Bowie, Sparks and Devo collabed.
Devo rarely let Booji Boy play with others after Uncle Neil got hold of him...
I’ve never seen it but I imagine it’s from Human Highway which is a bonkers movie Neil Young made.Serious question...what the hell is going on in this video?
Highly influential on Belle & Sebastian.

Should of added, B&S sound NOTHING like The Associates, just that Stuart cite them as a Scottish band that did what they wanted to do.Now I know I can avoid this one…
I was thinking last night that there is a touch of Byrne there. Cure makes sense because their bass player was in the Cure.To me the Associates kind of sounded like if Talking Heads and The Cure had a love child.
