I like "Bummed" but do we really need two Happy Mondays-albums in this book? "Pills, thrills..." is the better album IMO. The vinyl printed inner sleeve is...something else. 4 stars.

Currently catching up on earlier picks.
13th Floor Elevators: I get that they're super influential to a lot of bands that I love, but this doesn't really do anything for me. Slightly disappointed. 2 stars.
Afrika Bombaataa: Fun but forgettable (like a lot of early rap, IMO). 3 stars
The Damned: I've only listened to their most famous stuff before, like New Rose. This is surprisingly raw and hardcore-esque. I love it! 4 stars.

Outkast, The Smiths and Talking Heads are all classic masterpieces that need no further introduction. (5 stars each)

Listening to Spacemen 3 today, and my head hurts. I love Spiritualized, but this is one step too far on the psychedelic drone scale. Maybe I'm just too old. (3 stars)

Perfect timing. I just listened to the Transmissions New Order podcast where instead of recording Technique they partied with Happy Mondays for 14 weeks.

Happy Mondays are one of those bands that has a cool sound. But after 45 minutes it all kind of sounds the same. So not a bad album, but nothing super essential on there for me.

Wrote for luck is probably my favourite Mondays tune but they’re very much a singles band for me, can’t imagine ever owning a studio album.
