The Official Needles and Grooves 1001 Album Generator Project (aka Preachin’ about the Preachers if today’s selection sucks)

Kate Bush. I feel like if I had been introduced to her and Laurie Anderson when I was learning about Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel and Bowie and The Cure as a kid, I would be all about them. I like what I hear but I don’t necessarily get it and there is not an inertia with age but a, for lack of a better phrase, crowding of my brain and I don’t necessarily seek it out because it’s just odd enough to both intrigue and confuse me. It’s not that it’s not for me, but that I feel like I’m incapable of dragging more odd along with me.

Cowboy Junkies - The Trinity Session

Love this band. Have seen them live a few times. Margo Timmins is incredible. The voice of an angel that can morph into a demon if that's what the song calls for.

Fun fact - her brother/guitarist Michael Timmins writes all their original music and lyrics. The fact Margo makes each song uniquely hers without actually penning it just blows my mind.

One of those bands who've earned a "Can Do No Wrong" badge so far in my book.

I gave away this record via VMD two years ago...

Lou Reed is one of those artists that I really struggle with getting in to. However, I'm really liking this one so far. I'm not sure what it is about this one. It seems a little less "Lou Reedy" to me. Maybe it's that it's a little more mellow?
This is the one that unlocked him a bit for me. I’m still a beginner Lou Reed listener. lol.
You guys dig VU at all?
