Moving from a 110 to a 100c is a switch from an elliptical stylus to a conical stylus. What about the change felt like an upgrade? Finally got around to upgrading my old Technics SLD2 with Nagaoka MP-110 to a 100c.

Love your setup. The 100C really seems to be a great bang for the buck from current impressions! Finally got around to upgrading my old Technics SLD2 with Nagaoka MP-110 to a 100c. Rest of my system is a Fosi X2 phono stage, NAD C316 BEE amp and Q Acoustics 3030i speakers.
Based on what I’d read online I didn’t bother with the installed stylus, did the upgrade to the ML.
Right off the bat the difference from my old turntable (which admittedly has been suffering speed stability issues) to the 100c was noticeable. I was expecting better separation, richer sound etc. What I wasn’t expecting though was how much less surface noise there was – the records just play much quieter. Really happy I made the leap.
Will look at Darlington Labs for a new phono stage next I think, but for now really happy with how it sounds!

Part of me hopes this leads to a 1200G2, leading to sales on the current 1200G. Not that I’m ready to pull the trigger, but it’s a nice thought. Not sure there's really a lot of difference to the GR but interesting news.

This has caught my eye and I keep returning to the site and looking at it intensely. I'd need a new stand for it, but it's kinda sexy.

Definitely not the worse design/collab, I'm with @kvetcha, in the right room/setup it would look killer.................not to mention, everything has a market, I'm not assuming there gonna make a boat load of these. Here's an interesting collaboration. Don't care for the look personally.
Agreed, if you had a very modern, garage-esque design motif I could easily see these popping. Not my aesthetic but I could see those looking boss in the right setup.
In case you missed it
I'm pretty sure my last turntable debate will be 1210G v MasterDeck, then it's the end of that discussion.
I think his knee jerk reaction is what a lot of "audiophiles" who went with the 1200G's unmistakable quality, and are just accepting the DJ look of the table. I'm in the same boat as he is and you are, I love EVERYTHING about my 1210G except for the DJ look, but I decided the "meat and potatoes" of the deck overshadowed the look. This kind of review is odd to me in one respect — that he says he is not “tempted to sell” his 1200G for the 1300G as if it’s some kind of revelation. The differences between these tables are significant (particularly the tonearm), as are the prices. The only revelation would be if he _was_ tempted to sell the 1200G for the other.
As mentioned in another thread, I’ve got an order in for a 1300G at 10% off from Alma Audio, so the price difference for mine v the 1200G is even more significant. I’d prefer the performance of the 1200G (and theoretically could afford it with the same monthly payment plan I’m using for the 1300G), but i don’t want a table w the DJ stuff (although the drop light is a nice feature).
I’m still looking at turntable options bc I have a couple months to cancel the 1300G bc it’s not arriving until December, but nothing about this review tempts me to want to cancel the order for the 1300G and go w/ the 1200G, certainly not the 1200G at full price.
EDIT - I could be tempted w the 1200G at like 20-25% off, but that doesn’t seem likely anytime soon without an update to that model itself.

Honestly, if Technics made a 1200G, let's call it an 1100G that was exactly the same as the 1200G minus the DJ stuff at even just $500 less, I'd be on board, lol. The only TT that's giving me the itch is the MasterDeck, outside of that, I'd be hard pressed to replace my 1210G.
Oh, agreed, I'm just talking in a perfect worldPulling the pitch control and strobe light off a 1200G likely would not make any significant savings, never mind $500 and then having 2 models at the same high price point leads to cannibalisation of sales. This one is cheaper and different because of what is off it and is more expensive and better than the GR2 because of what isn’t.

Again, I think we all end up having to make some compromises when choosing gear, they may be small at times, but they're there. I wanted the "best" deck I could afford with a removable head shell, that meant dealing with the look.
