I can't remember every delta but the DD motor is not the same. What’s the difference between the 1200/1300G, the magnesium tonearm?

The 1300G does have an aluminum tonearm tube vs. magnesium on the 1200G. It seems to have the ΔΣ-Drive from the 1200GR2 and the three-layer platter from the 1200G.What’s the difference between the 1200/1300G, the magnesium tonearm?

This review from SkyFi Audio on the 1300G is pretty comprehensive. This channel has a lot of good content if you’re into Technics gear. What’s the difference between the 1200/1300G, the magnesium tonearm?
I’ve now read both glowing reviews, but I’m wondering if Stereophile ever writes anything negative. His Clearaudio setup for stereo records was identical to my setup. I’m loving the Clearaudio and feel particularly good about it bc mine was supposedly pre-owned and got it for 22% off MSRP. (I say supposedly bc it seemed new to me or as close to new as I could imagine a pre-owned table to be)After reading the Stereophile reviews in the Jan 2025 issue of the Technics SL-1300G and the Clearaudio Signature, they both seem to be fabulous tables.
I’d probably have purchased the 1300G instead of my Luxman PD-151 Mk2 had it been available at the time I purchased. The tonearm bearing on the 1300G is the same one used on the 1200G and the SL-1000R, with different lengths and armtube materials.
Most reviewers don’t bother with things that aren’t going to get a decent review these days. It isn’t worth the drama with the companies or followers being negative in return.I’ve now read both glowing reviews, but I’m wondering if Stereophile ever writes anything negative. Reviewers tend to be enthusiasts like us too and don’t want to spend a month or two with a piece of equipment they don’t like.Yeah I think Ed said something similar on here once. With only a limited amount of review slots and so much brilliant gear at every price point why deliberately pick something that either doesn’t interest you or that you don’t think will be any good.
How dare you express an opinion! When I reviewed comics back in the day, I got shit from a creator for a good review because I had mentioned that the series (which was told through six one shot stories set in different timelines) felt a little disjointed.
