Vintage Equipment

My vintage system. Marantz 2235b with PSB Century 300i speakers. Some might say it’s bad form to have them in a garage system but at least it gets played often and it keeps the Marantz’s caps formed. Perfect for working on Land Cruisers and the ’55 Merc.

I still have my Marantz 2235B I bought new in 1977. Cut grass all summer and saved my cash to buy it. What a great piece.

I'm so attracted to all this Marantz gear from the 70s!

I managed to never have any Marantz gear in my systems over the years, except for one piece that has perhaps 0.001% of the sex appeal of those classic Marantz receivers: for a couple of years in the 1990s, I owned a Marantz CD-67SE compact disc player.

I mainly remember two things about it - that it sounded very warm and musical (especially compared to the player it replaced, an early generation Technics mid-size player from the late 80s), and that I had mixed feelings when I sold it to a small independent stereo shop. What I don't remember is why I sold it, but I must have needed some cash at the time.

Photo is NOT MINE; just one I grabbed from internet search.
