Vinyl Me Please Anthology

It’s an option when you report the start of a thread to hide the user.
I never clicked that though because I wanted to be able to see how it was handled. Hopefully this means they did get rid of them. I haven't seen him around there since what happened yesterday.

You two are a couple of seriously un-chill jazzbo's.

My one thought, as someone who admittedly did NOT buy this product (but would be upset if I did), is that I hope people are careful not to become the thing they feel VMP has implicitly accused them of being. Criticism is good and deserved, but some of what I see in this thread could be easily dismissible by VMP as bitter former forumers making trouble and turning the FB group toxic out of spite.

“See? Even the group they paid to be in they can’t help but turn into a cesspool. It’s obviously not us, it’s them, and here’s the proof. There’s literally nothing we could have done that they wouldn’t have complained about.”

I’m not saying I agree with that thinking, but for those who might be predisposed to blaming external factors, I could see how it would be tempting to put this on the people who were already mad at them anyway. I know it’s alluring, but you won’t maintain the moral high ground if you engage with the same petty sniping as other customers.

What they’re doing sucks.

Your measured and reasoned response is of course, totally correct... You're right, I know you're right... I usually let things go before I become "internet guy" and I think the trouble I have in this case isn't so much that they messed up, it's the pithy and flippant responses to numerous totally valid complaints that just sets me off. Well, that and blocking people and deleting comments that don't show them in a good light.

BUT I DIGRESS.
I'm gunna stop now. But I do look forward to hearing about what the Hoffman forums have to say about all this. If for nothing else just to make it expressly clear to VMP that this forum was not the cause of their problems...

He’s gotta have a high level of confidence in both himself and anyone he interacts with to assume nobody is going to think twice about his usage of that word:

Again, I tooootally get where you guys are coming from. Scoring a good rhetorical point feels amazing. I’m not above it. It’s a lot easier to remind you guys of your better angels when I didn’t drop two hundo on a giant CD.
Oof I am sorry for making a joke about that. Definitely did not know it was actually a word let alone a derogatory term. Fuck that guy.

Man, I love how @Indymisanthrope always has the wisest and most zen post on every thread. I'm not even being sarcastic here... I love seeing your very thoughtful and well articulated takes in the middle of hot debates.

i just saw this on discogs and thought it was a foil stamping

It’s not, it’s just the lighting. It’s black on black.

I can totally see the perception being this and in fact some of the shill people have said that on the FB group. The problem is it wasn't actually true. It seemed to me we all saved our true vitriol or feelings for this outlet and gave more measured responses over on the group. It's a shame that the reality has been that people who complain about the product legitimately are just labeled trouble makers.

Has anyone got a response from VMP or Blue Note on this stuff?
I'm also surprised this isn't really being discussed on VMP Reddit.

At least from my impression, the VMP reddit was fairly apprehensive about the Blue Note anthology - a lot of people in the initial thread were saying it was too expensive for them to jump on. If any of y'all wanna hop on the reddit and give a rundown of the situation you're more than welcome to - reddit is pretty much the only form of community that VMP (or at least one or two employees) pays attention to without being able to control, so even though they still might just ignore it, it's worth a shot?
