Vinyl Me Please Anthology

The third podcast is out. If you want to listen to someone from VMP talking over Don Was for 20 minutes, you will love it!
Anyone cares to share the podcast with those of us who didn't buy Anthology? Unless the general consensus is you people want to keep them "exclusive" to those who paid for them. If that is the case, then I understand, and will wait until VMP releases them to the general public as Storf said.

might be better to wait, you can just listen to them back to back as it was all cut from a two hour-ish interview

Despite fumbling the ball on a handful of occasions so far, I'll say this about VMP and the Blue Note Anthology. It's gotten me listening to jazz again. I've got maybe a 100 jazz LPs (Blue Note and Resonance stuff mostly) but lately, I've been going through this WIKI list (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Note_Records_discography) and one by one listening to each album on Youtube/Spotify then adding the ones I adore to my Amazon wishlist.

Just finished Stanley Turrentine's Always Something There from October 1968. It's very much with the times in regards to airy, loose jazz and the covers he picks (Stone Soul Picnic was a highlight for me).

So, really, at the end of the day, VMP got me listening to jazz heavily again. Mission accomplished. And I'm not saying that to echo the "it's only about the music" sentiment that got passed around after the Dexter snafu. VMP actually has me listening to jazz intensively and seriously. So, kudos VMP. I'm down for every Anthology they want to release.

I am definitely in agreement on this WhiskeyPug. Through its curated titles, VMP really opened me up to jazz and the Anthology has had me mining the Blue Note back catalogue

Man, Don dropped a lot of hints at upcoming stuff in that AMA. In reference to the Blue Note Review and Blue Note Anthology doing so well: "We're gonna be doing a lot more of that sort of thing." Tone Poet definitely going into 2021 and beyond. An official Blue Note Records biography possibly in the works. Some kind of special release of Money Jungle coming up soon.

Also, it did not escape my notice a certain jazzbo's question was the only one to throw Don off. His expression of "what the fuck is this dude asking me??" was priceless.

And, maybe most of all, loved that @Enoch basically had his question answered even though it wasn't asked. I forget what question it was that set Don off talking about how important it was holding those Blue Note albums in his hands and looking at the liner notes was. He waxes poetic about this ALL THE TIME it seems to me. Love this guy.

he answered a @Lee Newman question, but wasn't given @Mr Moore's or my question, but yeah he did circle around Mr Moore's but didn't quite answer it either which is sad because I thought it was a better question than mine
