Anyone else ever look at a VMP record on your shelf and think - āMan, that would be a great album right now!ā - then think - ābut Iād have to take it out of that cheap plastic sleeve then, worse, put it back in!ā - and just decide to pick a non-VMP record instead?
You... you guys keep them in those sleeves??Anyone else ever look at a VMP record on your shelf and think - āMan, that would be a great album right now!ā - then think - ābut Iād have to take it out of that cheap plastic sleeve then, worse, put it back in!ā - and just decide to pick a non-VMP record instead?

I ordered a special edition LP from a dude on discogs recently and he kept all the special edition stuff separately....yeah he forgot to include all of that stuff (though it was listed as included on the listing) when he mailed it off. I made him send it all separately. It was a bit of an ordeal but I did eventually get everything. In all seriousness, i need to decide if i will keep them and maybe store the extras separately or just Sell/PIF the ones i don't ever listen too.
I do like to keep everything neat and together but the hassle does keep me from spinning those discs.

I have those awful plastic sleeves stored in a box just in case I sell, but God knows the first thing I do when I get an album is remove those damn things. I mean they seam split if you so much as look at them funny...BUT RESALE! Which we all know is what happens when we realize it was the worst album by that artist or the least in need of a repress but you bought it anyway only to never play it because of that damn bag it comes in and that Obi strip wedge thing and the art print and recipe and lenticular variant cover and stickers, stickers!
Who will know i paid 29$ for this unless i keep the stickers!?!
Gonna have to use some funds from previously sold records to buy some inner and outer sleeves. Recently I've had to basically do surgery on some records since the paper sleeves have been suctioned on to them...I have those awful plastic sleeves stored in a box just in case I sell, but God knows the first thing I do when I get an album is remove those damn things. APPARENTLY I LOOK AT THEM FUNNY A LOT
In some cases I actually tear those horrible paper inner sleeves off of the record because it's safer than sliding the record out of them.Gonna have to use some funds from previously sold records to buy some inner and outer sleeves. No, get yourself some of these:Anyone else ever look at a VMP record on your shelf and think - āMan, that would be a great album right now!ā - then think - ābut Iād have to take it out of that cheap plastic sleeve then, worse, put it back in!ā - and just decide to pick a non-VMP record instead?
Nope. I generally keep the jacket and extras (art prints, stencils, booklets) in the original re-sealable sleeves, put that in a standard MoFi outersleeve, and then put the discs in MoFi inner sleeves behind the jacket on the MoFi outersleeve. Everything goes into he outersleeve with he spine side out, and the opening of the outsleeve to the outside of the shelf. I am someone who rarely takes a jacket off the shelf when playing an album, so I just grab the disc and I'm on my way.Anyone else ever look at a VMP record on your shelf and think - āMan, that would be a great album right now!ā - then think - ābut Iād have to take it out of that cheap plastic sleeve then, worse, put it back in!ā - and just decide to pick a non-VMP record instead?
Just an FYI, the inner sleeves I linked are EXACTLY the same as the MoFi sleeves except they have a different company printed on them and they are about half the cost ($25 for 100 vs $20 for 50)Nope. Which were your favorites?
Yeah I'm referring to the inner paper sleeves in terms of ripping them off to avoid scratches, but I agree with that method for the sticky outers. Those things are just land mines...I cut the top open. I'm not gonna give the resealable stickiness the opportunity to affix it self to the jacket.
