Vinyl Me Please Classics

Um, what's going on here? Acoustic Sounds has 100 of the 1,000 copies pressed? Says VMP “sold out” but this seems like VMP might have needed some help moving these Stax box sets. Or am I late to this conversation?

I think ya missed out on all the primo swaps sadly. The Patrice record is cool, but I just passed because I can get a much cheaper copy elsewhere as it's not very hard to find. But I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Ditto. I like Patrice and all, but this doesn't float my boat AT ALL! Sometimes I wonder if the did things like RUN OUT GROOVE if that would be a better business decision. If users were able to vote on the release they want pressed, that would create HAPPY CAMPERS! I think we can all rely on each other to make great decisions, AMIRIGHT?????!!!!

RotM Clues from Storf

E: Proto-punk album, never been on vinyl
C: Stax, no reissue in 45 years
R: Never been on vinyl
Ooh...so likely means the Stax album was pre-1975...do we know if EU represses count in Storf's reissue hints? I feel like in the past he has said EU re-releases don't count...

Classics guesses so far...depending on if EU reissues count...

The Mar-Keys- The Great Memphis Sound
Sam & Dave - Double Dynomite
Johnnie Taylor - Wanted One Soul Singer, The Johnnie Taylor Philosophy Continues
Booker T - Doin' Our Thing, Soul Limbo
Eddie Floyd - I've Never Found A Girl, You've Got To Have Eddie
Staples Singers - Soul Folk In Action, We'll Get Over
Albert King - King Does The King's Things
Soul Children - self-titled
Jimmy Hughes - Something Special

It’s probably not going to be Eddie Floyd though right? Knock on Wood was already a Classics.

I'd imagine Stax was more than happy to provide Storf with more releases and Storf was more than happy to take them up on it. He tried to get David Porter's Victim of the Joke but Stax went ahead and released it.
