Possibly...but Storf's clues when he mentions reissues never include box set releases or overseas reissues...I would think you can safely rule out the Staples since they just put out a box set of their own

Ah I thought you meant that there was a Staples Singers box set put out by someone else. I didn't keep tabs on what was in the VMP/now acoustic sounds box set.I don't think VMP is gonna reissue any from the Stax Box set considering there may be breakout releases of single albums from that box set, which Storf sort of implied on reddit a little while ago when the box was announced (not to mention Craft has the reissue licenses for them right now).
In any case, the album was JUST reissued a couple weeks ago in a box. No way they're gonna reissue it AGAIN in April.

You never know...maybe isn't likely but I still wouldn't rule it out. Storf said that box set reissues don't count in his eyes back when people were asking about the Otis record not being repressed in 20 years or whatever he claimed. It was reissued in the 2017 box set Rhino did. There was a Staples Singers box set released a couple weeks ago by Craft Recordings (who VMP has partnered with on some stuff before). I think it's very safe to say anything reissued by Craft even in box sets is off the table for VMP to reissue.

I took his comments as meaning they were released before 1975 and he picked 45 years as a tidy number. Again, could be wrong but I'm going off how fast and loose Storf has been in the past with his clues. This is the guy who called Patrice Rushen a "crate-digger album".I think it's very very very very very unlikely. Either way, neither of those Staples LPs were reissued in 1975, so it's moot.

He carefully said " Stax, no reissue in 45 years". I just know not to take Storf's word as 100% gospel as he has consistently been fast and loose with his descriptions and research... We'll find out soon enough though! No, I think "first reissue in 45 years" means it was reissued for the first time since 45 years ago (1975). Which means it could've been first released more than 45 years ago and just received a reissue in 1975.
That's Storf's bread and butter though. Being vague or just wrong about hints. He said Patrice Rushen was a crate-digger album, mixed up which Aretha was mono and which was stereo, says box sets and non-US releases don't count as re-releases, and many other flubs. I personally think this album had a re-release 1975 or earlier and wouldn't limit it to only records from 1975 exactly. I'm going with the idea that it was originally released prior to 1975 and had 1 or more re-releases in the US between then and 1975.I think that's a biggggg stretch to include anything not issued/reissued more than 45 years ago.
