Vinyl Me Please Classics

Put me in the Rollins or Spiritualized choice group? REALLY tough call.

I'm in the 2nd out of 3rd month sub @ $75 with VMP and then I'm done with them after 5 years. It's like not breaking up with a significant other earlier because you (me) didn't have the balls to do it earlier. They made this choice easy for me.

No way I'm doing a $33 add on either.

Edit 8:48 PST - After listening to both back to Spiritualized (Know this record, have listened to a ton) and (this) Sonny Rollins for this Sonny Rollins alb first tme

The magazine article on why they chose this album is one of the laziest most uninspired pieces of writing I’ve read from a professional journalist maybe ever.
It made me physically cringe several times in the first paragraph alone. Was he drunk when he wrote that? I’m drunk right now so maybe I’m projecting but still...

Same boat, does anyone know if the standard black Shabaka record sounds the same as the orange? The black is around 22 bucks if the sound quality is as good I’ll stick with Rollins
Looks like same plates, I would stick with black. I only have the VMP because they gave it to me free when they lost my ROTM order. Some people have complained about noise issues with the VMP. I didn't notice it being bad on my copy though.

when are you all just going to make your own N+G Audiophile subsection

everyone buy an AAA classics quality album
And we can pick affordable AAA releases like the spectacular Van Morrison’s Moondance! 😍

I love a very high quality sounding pressing! It just fills me up with joy everytime I drop the needle on a record that sounds superb! 😊😇

Omg, you know what I would so pick!?!? The upcoming 2020 reissue of New Order’s Power, Corruption & Lies! It’s remastered from the analog tapes and I think it’s AAA! 😍😍😍

And I would also recommend everyone to get the single for Blue Monday, that’s also getting its own new remaster too! 😍

Baby monster LOVES the Classics track because it’s all high quality sounding records and it’s also jazz, blues, soul, funk; genres I love and am thankful I’m immersing myself in at a young age! 🥰

He was said something like “Whatever Sonny Rollins is top 5 sax players of all time... he even got to play with like John Coltrane and stuff.”
“He’s made a bunch of incredible classic jazz records: from The Bridge on, he’s been a legend… played with Coltrane, all kinda things.”

Just trust me, okay? He’s like... a really cool jazz music guy. Remember Coltrane? Yeah... cool like that. All kinda things.

To be fair, this Sonny Rollins album is great. Regardless of how badly VMP flub hyping it, it deserves actual hype. Max Roach and Sonny in a trio together is legendary.

The Everything You Need to Know About... article is a rough read, but I totally agree with Storf that Freedom Suite is "semi-overlooked when compared to his other albums". To steal some of @NathanRicaud 's hyperbole: This album is a 10/10!!🎷
