Vinyl Me Please Classics

While not AAA I don't think, the Delmark reissue of West Side Soul is pretty easy to get, and pretty cheap. Though two times I've bought it off amazon were noticeably warped. Probably pressed at a crappy plant. Nonetheless I doubt it's something as easy to find and currently reissued as that for Classics. Same with Albert King, we just had 2 different AAA reissues of Born Under A Bad Sign cut by Kevin Gray in the past year. No way they put that out...again.

Hound Dog Taylor still holds up in guesses. Not reissued lately, great guitarist. I really would love some Freddie King too.

Those Born Under a Bad Sign Reissues are not readily available. I was holding out for a mono and missed the RSD version, so I would be happy to get it. Lots of other guesses I'd be happy to have in here too.

Hound Dog Taylor is great, but originals are affordable (unless that's changed recently) and I'm not sure the recordings are audiophile enough to make sound a ton better. If anyone doesn't have Hound Dog Taylor and the House Rockers, you should pick it up!

They may be hard to find now, but there was a ton of them printed last year by two different labels. It would be disappointing if that was the release to a majority of vinyl collectors who are big fans of that album.

Agree on Taylor, I think the recordings are kinda lo-fi to demand an audiophile AAA pressing, but it definitely would be cool if it was reissued.

Anyone guess Hoodoo Man Blues yet? Surely I can't be the only one who put off the AP version based on the price?

Junior Wells is not a guitarist, that doesn't fit the clue at all. Plus that's another one that has been pressed over and over and over, and there are pricy AAA pressings, but there are also cheaper, easily available pressings.

I don't think it is explicit that the band leader is the legendary guitarist, but it would be weird the way he said "first since Buddy Guy" if he meant Buddy Guy again.

Didn't realize that '92 pressing was still in print. I don't know what you mean by over and over. According to discogs only AP has reissued it since the last Delmark listing for '92 which I'm assuming is what is still up on Amazon even though it is mysteriously marked as 2002.

I think Buddy being the legendary guitarist on it probably rules it out though.
Edit: unless Storf thinks Friendly Chap is someone else...

There is a 2002 repress of the 1992 version you can get on amazon for cheap. Discogs isn't totally current on that one. It's not a rare reissue by any means. There are a couple recent AAA pressings too. And yeah I don't think storf would give the clue "legendary guitarist" if he wasn't talking about a sideman appearing on the album instead of the title artist.

Yes that is what I said, isn't it?

I don't think Somebody Loan Me a Dime has had a widely available reissue. Looks like one in Italy this year though, which is weird.

Doubt it’s this, but BB King’s performance at the Regal Theater turns 55 next month. The album came out in ‘65 and is obviously one of the best blues and live albums ever. A quality pressing of that would be awesome.

Yeah that would be cool to get a AAA reissue of however unlikely. You should check out the 2015 reissue, excellent quiet pressing with great sound quality. I love cranking that one up, it sounds like BB is in the room with you. They could pick just about any BB King album from the early 70s and before and that would be a great release

Yeah I’ve held off because I saw it was pressed at United but I really should just get it one of these days on the cheap.

Got my C&J in yesterday. The edge trim wasn't super even in the current state which doesn't bother me but makes me wonder why they even held them back. Came a bit dirty thanks to the repackaging but plays silent after a clean. Good sound, good music.
