Vinyl Me Please Classics

So, they had that random drop of previously out of stock albums today and I impulsively picked up Buddy Guy, "Left My Blues in San Francisco". What is the consensus on the quality of this release? My girlfriend has wanted more blues albums so I thought it would go along nicely with whatever the December Blues selection winds up being (hopefully BB King).

Personally passed on the Buddy Guy but the Muddy Waters blew me away, snag that one as well if it’s around. Speaking of Buddy Guy and in celebration of Blues month finally arriving, enjoy this ridiculously awesome video of Buddy Guy doing a cover of Mary Had A Little Lamb

It sounds amazing. One of the best Classics releases without a doubt.

Anyone get their Brubeck yet?

Mine has a lot of surface noise and the highs seem fuzzy and crackly.

Surprisingly this time I got my package before the middle of the month. I did a playthrough of Brubeck, there is a slight background crackle on A1 for a 15 seconds from the beginning, but the rest of it is super quiet. SQ is really good, on par with what I expect from AP. Gonna give it a clean and try again.

I'm going to go through and check my needle and pressure and anti skate and whatnot tonight and play it again. Probably clean it too. I did play a MFSL Weezer and didn't have the same issues but its worth checking my setup first.

When i was in another room and couldn't hear the noise its a good album. Hopefully I can figure it out.

Do any of you guys keep your liner notes booklets separate from the records in like a small box or anything?

I was thinking about getting something to store them in. Dimensions on them are 3.5" x 5.5" so I was thinking a 4x6 notecard box / recipe box holder would work nice. There are some cheap plastic ones on Amazon but just curious if anyone else here has anything that they use.

I know a lot of VMP collectors do that. I like to keep the prints and booklets and everything in the sleeve with the record that they came with. They were designed to stay in there so I'm all about keeping things together.

I use this...it holds the booklets on their side and has room for a brush and zerodust
