THE PROPHECY WILL BE FULFILLED!!!
I got free tickets to see Smashmouth at a casino maybe 7 years ago. There were no more than 50 people in the arena, but they still played all the songs and joked around with the people in the audience and handed everybody cds . It was a fun time.

Smash Mouth is hands down the most entertaining Twitter account I follow. It's all about baseball and "All Star".

They still play Possum Kingdom everyday on our Rock station in Philly . ( Along with Cake for an old conversation on here )

Yes those few Cake songs were constant rotation in the 90s in Raleigh. I feel like I don't hear them as often today, which is cool with me.

Possum Kingdom is an all time great radio rock song. I've never heard another Toadies song but it's one of my favorite things to hear on the radio. Turning to whoever is in the seat next to you and screeching DO YOU WANNNNA DIIIIIE???

Agree on 1994, strongly disagree on 1999. Three of the best “alternative” albums of that year are ruled out: Wilco, Fiona, and Beck. Pavement’s Terror Twilight is fantastic but Pavement albums have been reissued to death (I know that hasn’t stopped VMP before). Maybe Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin?

Overall 1999 was not a good year for alternative rock IMO. 1994 in constrast is effing loaded with top-notch albums, out of which VMP will probably make a disappointing choice.

Fiona When the pawn... Was released Nov '99 why is that ruled out?

1999 is actually not a terrible year for indie/rock... Can we do anything with any of these?:

Bonnie Prince Billy - I See A Darkness
Built To Spill - Keep It Like A Secret
Sparklehorse - Good Morning Spider
Jimmy Eat World - Clarity
Sebadoh - The Sebadoh (long, longshot but I can dream)
Mogwai - Come On Die Young
Fountains Of Wayne - Utopia Parkway
Tom Waits - Mule Variations
Cibo Matto - Stereo*Type A
Sigur Ros - Agaetis Byrjun
Folk Implosion - One Part Lullaby
Gomez - Liquid Skin
Stereolab - Cobra & Phases Group...
Luna - The Days Of Our Nights
The Dismemberment Plan - Emergency & I
The Faint - Blank-Wave Arcade

I would love if one of these happened to be it!

The White Stripes - The White Stripes released January 1999. It would pair nicely with the next TMR vault.
