Vinyl Me Please Essentials

Hey guys...remember when VMP said for years and years that Songs For The Deaf was never going to happen but they could never give an explanation as to the reasons why?

I still kinda want to know why it was never going to happen and what made the change from "Never" to "Next Month".

Have any Redditers here seen the reasons or want to pose the question to Storf?

I second this. Please, one of you kind Redditers, hit him with the window of exclusivity question and report back.

Any idea what’s holding up their vinyl releases? They reissued Elastic Firecracker but it was limited and that was the only one.
I would assume Island/Def Jam (or whoever owns whatever now) has an asking price that may be out of the range of smaller labels. But even more so unfortunately unlike say superdrag who were able to justify reissuing 2 of their major label works, this record is really unknown to most, even for those into mid 90s alt rock. I cant imagine they could move more than 500, and even that is pushing it. I know they've been playing shows off and on since 2017. I don't think they've even played the east coast yet since the reunion...

* and as I type this...I just read Tim from TD said they did buy the masters, and it will be coming out on vinyl
see below about 35 min in

That all said, as hyperbolic as it sounds, Jesus Hits Like The Atom Bomb is one of the most over looked and underrated record of the late 90s

It fits quite nicely between Flaming Lips Transmissions...and Brainaic (who they ultimately cover on the record as a tribute)

I met them when they were on tour for Elastic Firecracker and they were just the nicest people. I think I was about 17. They all signed my CD. I think I still have it somewhere...

That's my Tripping Daisy story.

Well this is great news, Jesus Hits is an all time top 10 album for me. They did a mini Texas tour in 2017 and I saw them and they were great. I hope I have half as much energy as Tim does when I’m 50+
