Vinyl Me Please Essentials

La Bouche - Sweet Dreams, featuring the singles “Sweet Dreams” and “Be My Lover.” The only vinyl pressing of this album on discogs was released on Christmas day in 1994 in Brazil.
 
I have to think Mariah Carey 'Music Box' or 'Butterfly' has an extremely strong chance of being one of these 90s picks.

Someone asked on twitter recently about more Mariah Carey albums and they said "soon". (PJ Harvey they said "Nope, we'll be buying from her!") And when 'Daydream' was released and someone asked storf why they didnt consider Mariah as essentials, he replied "who said we didnt?". Definitely sounded like they had another record of hers in mind for that.

I don’t think it would be Mariah Carey’s Music Box! No way! I highly doubt VMP would ever make Mariah Carey an Essentials pick, and if they were to, I’m sure it would be her album “Butterfly”! Music Box would be a very weak pick In my opinion. Emotions or Butterfly would be a great pick though! 👍

But yeah, I don’t see VMP having the courage to make Mariah Carey an Essentials ROTM! Sure, they’ll do some J.Lon and Mariah Carey exclusives, but never as am Essentials ROTM!

I agree with this, Emotions and Butterfly are a lot better than Music Box in my opinion. I would like those picks too.

I dunno I think it may happen. We're overdue for a Pop/R&B exclusive.

But yes, I completely agree Music Box would be the weakest Choice. Butterfly is much better but in terms of sales Music Box was by far the biggest and this is VMP we're talking about, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they did Rainbow...

We’ve had Pop/R&B exclusives like TLC, NAO, J.Lo etc, but have never had an R&B/Pop Essentials ROTM! I don’t think VMP will do it, and if they ever did, they would never choose Mariah Carey’s Rainbow 🌈! That’s way too controversial! Music Box would be less controversial, but would still very much surprise me. Emotions and Butterfly 🦋 would surprise me less, but I’d still be surprised that VMP made a Mariah Carey album and Essentials ROTM!

Mariah Carey’s Rainbow as a store exclusive wouldn’t be surprising at all however, especially after VMP making Jennifer Lopez’ J.Lo a store exclusive! 💯
