Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I wonder if Amerigo Gazaway takes on challenge mashups? Cause I’d like to see a National/Sade mash. What would it be called

I don’t despise U2 but I think the only album I would ever add to my collection would be Achtung Baby. I have enjoyed a few of their singles over the years, If I believed in Greatest Hits comps they would be a good Greatest Hits band maybe.
I love U2 and have most of their albums on vinyl but I can respect this take. As for Sade? I have their greatest hits on vinyl. 🤷🏻‍♂️

outkast are better when i am not expecting a kanye or kendrick album production and personal lyric wise... i just want the end of the skit in hip hop

in my opinion Outkast are better than both of those artist in lyrics and production.
no.. kanye on college dropout and MBDTF is perfect, same with kendrick on GKMC and TPAB

"i cant complain what the accident did to my left eye/'cause look what an accident did to left eye/first aaliyah now romeo must die/i know i got angels watching me from the other side" is one of the best bars of the 2000s (his whole verse on never let me down is that good). plus m.A.A.d city, art of peer pressure, hood politics, u, family business, jesus walks, so appalled, lost in the world, all of the lights.. all amazing if not perfect songs

i like aquemini more than i thought i did before, but i like vulnerability and more modern production

My brother and I bought the Stankonia CD the day it was released. The plan was to drive around town listening to it because my car speakers were better than anything else I had at the time. We put the CD in, ready to jam, and started our drive. But something seemed...off. The music didn’t sound quite right. We fiddled with the car stereo mix, but that didn’t resolve that uncanny feeling the songs were giving us. Finally, on about the fourth song, we figured it out. In my haste to buy the album, I had grabbed the Clean Lyrics version.

We exchanged it for the Explicit Lyrics version and proceeded to have a most excellent evening.

this is poetic still makes me feel something today like the first time i heard it tho i've heard the song hundreds or maybe even thousands of times no exaggeration.

"Now Suzy Skrew had a partner named Sasha, Thumper
I remember her number like the summer
When her and Suzy yeah they threw a slumber
Party but you can not call it that cause it was slummer
Well it was more like spend the night
Three in the morning yawning dancing under street lights
We chilling like a villain and a ni**a feeling right
In the middle of the ghetto on the curb, but in spite
All of the bullshit we on our back staring at the stars above (aww man)
Talking bout what we gonna be when we grow up
I said what you wanna be, she said, "Alive"
It made me think for a minute, then looked in her eyes
I coulda died, time went on, I got grown
Rhyme got strong, mind got blown, I came back home
To find lil' Sasha was gone
Her mamma said she with a ni**a that be treating her wrong
I kept on singing my song and hoping at a show
That I would one day see her standing in the front row
But two weeks later she got found in the back of a school
With a needle in her arm, baby two months due, Sasha Thumper"

This is my top 10 albums by OutKast/Kanye West/Kendrick Lamar if I were to rank my favourites! This lists excludes Kids See Ghosts!

1. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
2. Kanye West - College Dropout
3. OutKast - Stankonia
4. Kanye West - Late Registration
5. Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city
6. OutKast - ATLiens
7. OutKast - Aquemini

#8 would’ve been Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy! 🔮 #9 would’ve been Kanye West again with 808’s & Heartbreak 💔

So all three of them are pretty equal for me! They are all incredible artists and have all got classic albums under their belt! I love Kanye West, OutKast and Kendrick Lamar so dearly! ♥

If I had to choose one I like the most, it’s Kanye West! His production is immaculate and he produced Common’s Be, and has always added so much spark to people’s albums back then! Every song he produced that appeared on an R&B or hip-hop album back then was the highlight, whether it be Mariah Carey’s Stay The Night, Alicia Keys’ You Don’t Know My Name, Brandy’s Talk About Our Love or Jay-Z’s Takeover or T.I.’s Doin’ My Job!

Kanye West is my favourite! 🙏🙏🙏

i just dont really think of art of storytelling when i think of aquemini... i think of skew it on the bar-b (which has too loud of hihats that it almost hurts my ears) and return of the G which aren't as vulnerable and powerful as that one verse on storytelling

their is plenty of vulnerable/powerful moments on Aquemini why i love that album so much.
the problem is i had to listen to the same 6 songs from the very beginning 40 fucking times so i can finish it (because i wanted to finish the album in full once), and i got so tired of those songs and not having lyrics as personal as i wanted (no line on the level of other artists that were more dark and tragic)... basically blame the fact i heard 4 songs too much
