First disc, lots of distortion and crackle across both sides, and the end of side repetitive crackle on both sides A and B. Now this record has a LOT of intentional crackle and distortion, this stuff I'm talking about is NOT that. But I know the album pretty well, in many cases people probably just figure it's meant to be there. I'll admit it doesn't exactly sound out of place in most cases. But my first two copies were an absolute MESS, and my third copy... is perfect. So I really think this just continues to point towards GZ using stampers for well beyond their functional lifespan. I'm not sure how else we repeatedly get such widely differing quality of presses from the same runs. Like this third copy doesn't even sound like it was pressed at the same plant. It has none of the previous issues of the first two. Like, zero.
