Vinyl Me Please Essentials

I'm in for those two, so not a terrible run of picks - I'm not a huge fan of Sublime and that pick genuinely surprises me.
I own Texas Flood and Transatlanticism already. I do have a soft spot for Sublime’s self-titled album though. I get why people dislike it and TBH, I don’t really care for any of their earlier albums. Had I not been 14 years old when it was originally released I doubt I much care for it either but I was so I am a fan.

???1996 : Long Beach - RATM Evil Empire??? [Zach De La Rocha is from Long Beach also would be a VMP "Metal" release]
1983 : Austin - SRV Texas Flood [Sweet!!]
2003 : Seattle - DCFC - Transatlanticism [Could this also be Postal Service Give Up??]
They did Evil Empire as an exclusive a long time ago. It's Sublime.

Death Cab is great but I wish Yeah Yeah Yeah's could get a really deluxe release because it's not widely available.

This months essentials picks are definitely curious to me. Just based purely on existing availability and value to what they would add over the current reissues. Most have already been reissued by top engineers and I don't see these versions being anything other than color variants with thick card stock jackets.

Texas flood has been reissued to death. There is a RKS 45rpm cut from AP.
Transatlanticism has a 10th anniversary edition that is cut by Kevin Grey (Gray) ;).
Sublime has a remastered version done at Bernie Grundman Mastering as well as a Chris Bellman cut pressed at RTI.

Like WTF VMP.

Oh wow. I foresee a lot of swapping in my future. I understand people love that Sublime album, but I just have no interest in revisiting it. Same for Stevie Ray. As it is, Transatlanticism is the only one of the three I like, and I've already got a pretty flawless copy of that that doesn't really need to be upgraded. The real question now is whether or not there are three Swaptions I'm actually into.

Well that’s another 3 months I can leave! Was worried a potential reissue of YYYs might pull me back in!

VMP who corporately attach themselves to every progressive campaign going and who “wouldn’t touch” half the bands in existence picking sublime is totally on brand 🙄

This has been, and will continue to be the central problem with the tier of albums they're booking on the Essentials track these days.

VMP: but ours are made from colored plastic pellets.

Yeah, I would've been interested in Transatlanticism if I didn't pick up a copy a few weeks ago.
SRV I'll just track down somewhere else, I don't need a $70CAD copy.

Neither of those are really in my wheelhouse. A YYY resub would likely have had me taking Dylan as my freebie, because my 2010 from the same plates has got a bit scrappy, and scrambling round looking for 2 things to swap for.
